The Deal

You made your way down the hall stopping once again in the doorway of Deans room. He looked like he was sleeping so you quietly made your way over to his bed and just stared at him. A single tear rolled down your cheek and as you leaned down you brought the blanket up, tucking it around his shoulders. Kissing his cheek you let a small smile come across your face and whispered "I love you Dean, and I'm gonna fix this." He didn't wake up but as you laid a hand on his forehead you saw his face relax.

You were almost to the front door when you heard your name being called, "Y/N where are you going?" Sam had been sitting in the main room with his laptop. "I noticed we're out of some stuff and thought i'd make a run." The lie rolled off your tongue easily but inside you were all jelly. Sam nodded, "Oh, okay just be careful." He turned back to the screen.

"I'll be back soon." You could feel your eyes water but refused to let the tears fall. Once you made it outside you again thought about all of the ways this could go bad. But when the image of Dean appeared you suddenly felt nothing but fierce determination.

Pulling out your phone you dialed the number and waited while it rang. Three rings in and the oh so familiar voice came through the speaker.

"Hello Darling, to what do I owe this immense pleasure?"

You rolled your eyes, "I need to talk to you." Looking up you saw Crowley standing about four feet in front of you, phone to his ear, "Well now, since when do we have late night girl chats?" You hung up your phone and shoved it into your pocket. "You know what the mark is doing to Dean, I want you to make it stop." Crowley simply tilited his head and looked confused, "I'm sorry, why would I be inclined to do anything about that? Also, I do believe you were in the room when Cain said the Mark was permanent." Crossing your arms you look down at your feet, "I want to make a deal."

You heard Crowley start walking towards you, "Darling I love a good deal as much as the next demon but what your asking is impossible. I may be the king of hell but even I have limits. Sorry to spoil your hopes but I do have a rather busy schedule. Now if you will excuse me," he turned to leave. "I don't want you to get rid of it, I want you to transfer it." He stopped, turning around slowly his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Excuse me?"

Walking forward until you stood directly in front of him you stared him in the eyes, "Now that Cain has given up the Mark I have a hunch it should be able to be moved even if it can't be destroyed, maybe by someone with serious juice and a crown." Crowley narrowed his eyes and stared at you, seeing the wheels turning in his head you knew you had him interested. "This may be something manageable, however I still do not see the profit in it for me. After all love, demons gotta make a living." You nodded, "Usual deal, my soul to save Dean. Transfer the Mark to me." The look that passed Crowleys face was one that confused you, he seemed at first surprised but then also concern seemed to flit across his eyes but was gone instantly.

Turning to his right he began slowly circling you, "You know, I've always been rather fond of you Y/N. Your a rather intriguing woman, feisty, clever, and the obvious brains behind a lot of your recent hunts with the Winchesters. And since I like you so much I'd like to propose a different deal." You hadn't expected this and suddenly grew nervous. Turning to meet his gaze you pushed aside the feeling in your stomach, "And whats that?"

Smiling, Crowley put his hands into his coat pocket, "I transfer the mark to you, dear old squirrel lives, and you become my new bestie. Occasionally taking care of a few rogue demons here and there for me." Thinking it over you were confused as to why Crowley would be that generous. "Oh and did I mention you can keep your precious soul as well?" Narrowing your eyes you nodded your head, "So thats it, I take on the mark, and become your personal mercenary?"

He again began circling you, man you hated that. "Correct, and it wouldn't even be a long term arrangement. Just for awhile so that I can gain control over a few lost lambs. What do you say sweetheart, do we have a deal?" You thought it through, Dean would be okay, yes you would have the mark but you could survive. And by killing demons for Crowley you may even be able to control the blood lust that came with carrying the mark. Looking up you met his eyes and nodded, "Deal."

Crowley smiled like he had just won the lottery, walking forward he came to stand only a few inches from you, "Now give your new boss a kiss would you dear." You frowned but knew you had to seal the deal, leaning forward you placed your lips on his. After pulling away you wiped your mouth. Crowley just smirked, "Are you ready darling?" Looking back towards the bunker you nodded, "Do it." Closing his eyes he seemed to concentrate hard for a moment, you watched and waited for something to happen knowing this was going to take more than a simple snap of his fingers. "Sorry darling, but this might hurt a bit," his eyes opened and glowed a dark blood red.

Suddenly you felt a searing pain in your right arm and dropped to your knees. Screaming you held your arm and wished for nothing but the pain to stop. After a few moments it finally did, slowly easing and leaving just a dull ache. Rolling up your sleeve you looked down to see the mark of cain, now on your arm.
