The Rise and Fall

Friendships lost

Harvey would wake up on a Thursday morning of her last month of senior year. It's five A.M. She springs from the bed and quickly gets dressed and walks downstairs slipping on her shoes. Her father and mother are in the kitchen and dining room. Her mother sits at the table reading an old novel while her father is in the kitchen making breakfast. "Good morning," Harvey says while standing in front of a mirror braiding her long dark hair.

 "Morning Harv," Her father says smiling while throwing some eggs and a waffle on a plate.

 "When is Aaron coming home, Mom" Harvey walks over and takes the plate sitting next to Mom.

 Her mother being lost in her book doesn't respond. "Addy? When is Aaron coming home?" Her father speaks up still focused on the food.

 Her mother looks to her as Harvey looks like shes never eaten before. "God damn child, Be respectable like Aaron. I have no idea how that nice boy Ronald even likes you."

 Harvey's face would sadden and she would slow down on eating. "Sorry ma'am. I have to be to school early.." She finishes her eggs and throws out half of her waffle.

 She goes upstairs to put on her shoes and grab her backpack. "Really Addison? Shes just a kid.." Her father says handing her a plate.

 Her mom would scoff. Harvey looks in the mirror. She wears a pastel blue dress and flip flops. She smiles and nods to herself, a loud honk is heard and she rushes downstairs giving her father a kiss on the cheek. "I love you!" She rushes out the door and sees Ronnie and Karen her two best friends in the car.

 Her smile gets bigger and she hops in the front seat giving Ronnie a kiss. In the backseat Karen would give a quiet sigh looking down. "So lovebirds are we skipping?"

 Ronnie looks to Harvey and says "I'll skip, Where to ladies?" Harvey gives a slight chuckle. "I can't I have a test in German. Worth a fourth of my grade." 

"Oh come on Harvey, have a little fun. Asshole Aaron comes home tomorrow" Karen says smiling. "You know your mom is just gonna fawn over him for the next two weeks."

Ronnie holds Harvey's hand "You can always take the test another time?" He grins looking at her.

Harvey sighs and looks back and forth at them "Fuck it. Lets go." 

Ronnie chuckles. "Don't get too cocky McKenna," He begins driving off.

 In the back Karen is laughing and wheezing. "SHE TRIED TO BE BAD ASS," She says choking on the words. It causes Harvey to laugh and wheeze like Karen. Ronnie shakes his head and continues driving.

================================================================================Two P.M.

Harvey, Karen and Ronnie end up drunk in the middle of a field. This would be Harvey's first time getting drunk, But for Karen and Ronnie this game was not new for them. Harvey starts to laugh uncontrollably, Karen and Ronnie look back and forth at each other. After a few minutes go by Harvey passes out. Ronnie picks her up. "Lets go hang out in the car."

 Karen nods and walks to the car with him. Ronnie places Harvey in the back seat and Karen hops in shot gun. Ronnie sits in the drivers seat. "You drunk?" 

She holds her fingers just a little apart "Tipsy, I would say" Karen says chuckling. "Only had a few, You?" 

Ronnie smiles "Only had one." He nods to Harvey in the back. "I say we wait a bit and wake her up. Take her home, Sound good?"

Karen looks to her in the back seat and smiles a bit "Sure." Their conservation would go on for a couple hours until Harvey woke up.

2:00 P.M.

"wOAH OH HOLY SHIT WHAT TIME IS IT. MY MOM IS GONNA KILL ME"

Ronnie and Karen break into laughter. "Its only four, lets get you home" Ronnie says and he starts up the car driving to Harvey's house.

They arrive at her house and Harvey fixes her hair she leans forward kissing Ronnie. "Love you guys. Thank you for today."

 She smiles and walks towards her front door walking inside. She sits on the couch. Outside Karen's heart would beat fast and she quickly leans forward kissing Ronnie. "Oh Jesus my bag" Harvey says quickly running outside.

 She sees Karen and Ronnie sucking face and her face goes pale. She opens the car door and grabs her bag. "OH NO HARVEY She kissed me. I'm sorry!" Ronnie says getting out of the car chasing her towards her front door.

 Harvey slaps him across the face. "I don't need a ride to school tomorrow" She says holding back tears. She opens the door and runs to her room. Throwing things as she screams.
