◇KIRISHIMA EIJIROU◇
Kaminari pat the passenger seat of his flashy car with a smug grin on his face. "Come on in Kiri, I've got something to tell you!"
Judging from his mischievous grin, shining golden eyes, and dancing shoulders, jumping up and down in anticipation, Kirishima assumed it was good news.
He had recently come to just expect bad news whenever someone pulled him aside to tell him something, which was a seriously bad habit he was trying his best to put an end to - nobody likes a pessimist.
Good news had been something hard to come by in the past few days - in the past month even - so Kirishima, rather than being worried, was happily curious.
He peeled open the door to the backseat of the car and tossed in his red duffel bag, stuffed with clothes, bug spray, basic toiletries, and various other camping supplies, letting it slid across the coated seats and land right next to Denki's blue one. His was much bigger than his friend's, but that didn't really surprise Kirishima. Kaminari had told him that it would be his first time camping since he was a kid, said his parents didn't fancy sleeping in the middle of nowhere on fallen pine cones, so he never really had the chance to go with anyone before. It was basically a tradition for anyone camping for the first time to end up packing WAY too much.
Camping...yeah, that would be fun. Kaminari and Sero planned most of it, dubbing it "Squad Summer Adventure the Second" or something ditzy like that.
He rattled the car as he slammed the door shut and made his way back to the passenger seat, ready to claim his spot riding shotgun. He smiled as he went. It was mega satisfying to be able to walk normally again, no gauze suffocating his leg and no crutch digging into his armpit. Seriously, you'd never know how much of a CURSE those things were until you had to lug one around for four weeks. Although Kirishima was a tad sad to see those fun little drawings from his friends go, he was overall extremely relieved to be out of that cast.
Hopefully he'd learned his lesson and wouldn't be back in another any time soon.
The seatbelt hooked around his waist and he pulled down the sunblock, shielding his sensitive ruby eyes from the vicious midday sun. Kaminari brought the engine he had since killed while waiting in front of Kirishima's grandparent's house for him back to life and cranked up the AC, battling the summer heat, which had been barbaric the past few days. The redhead let out a little huff, sinking back into the seat and satisfyingly stretching his legs out in front of him. It was just gonna be him and Kaminari since Bakugou was driving the girls.
"So," He started with a clearing of his throat, scanning Kirishima from the corner of his eye as he carefully backed the car out of the driveway of Kirishima's grandparent's house. "Katsuki's gay."
"...Huh?"
Kaminari smirked at Kirishima's startled unhinged jaw, finding entertainment in the redhead's bewilderment. He started the car down the road of Kirishima's street and continued, drumming his finger on the steering wheel to what Kirishima swore was the beat of the Indiana Jones theme. "I asked him and he said yup."
Kirishima didn't really know how to respond. "You...just asked him?"
He just couldn't imagine it. How do you just casually ask someone that? And for what reason? Kaminari, don't tell me you...
"I asked for you," He said simply, confirming Kirishima's suspicions. His insides became heavy, tugging and prodding at his stomach. He found it nice and all... but it was just too much. Kaminari hummed on, probably mistaking Kirishima's uneasy silence for nothing but shock. "And yup, he's into guys."
The AC blew cold biting air onto Kirishima. When he breathed it in, it tasted artificial, nauseating.
"Oh..."
