"I'm gonna miss you so much!" Mina cried into Kaminari's shoulder, swaying back and forth into his hug.
He nuzzled into her neck and rubbed circles on her shoulders. "I'm gonna miss you too."
Bakugou rolled his eyes. They were acting as if they weren't going to see each other again in a week.
God, Kaminari and those other idiots had grown so clingy to one another, that whenever any of them would have to go, like, three? Days without contact with one another, they would get like this. Seriously. And Kaminari was the worst. It was like he was addicted to his friends and if they so much as went to the gas station without him, he would shrivel up and die. He wasn't like that when they were thirteen. In fact, when Bakugou and Kaminari were just becoming friends, the two went weeks at a time without contact with each other. What happened? Did their other clingy friends (Sero & Mina) convert him? Like poison?
Whatever had happened, it was fucking annoying. Just imagine what it had been like when Jirou and Mina went off on a holiday by themselves for two weeks in the fall. It was like one of those damn "soldier returns home" videos when they came back.
Mina pulled away from Kaminari's hug (thank fucking- finally) and gave one last wave to everyone else, still sitting peacefully in the car. "Bye-bye guys! See you Monday!"
Kirishima and Sero returned the exchange enthusiastically.
                              "Bye, Mina!"
"See you then!"
Kaminari trailed his eyes on her, waiting until she had made it into her house, which was a two story residence (she was the second richest member of "The Squad") to jump back behind the wheel and start up the engine again. Bakugou's eyes brushed over the clock; 7:30. At the rate Kaminari was going, insisting on getting out of the car personally and hugging each one of his friends like it was the last time he was ever gonna see them again rather than just dropping them off like a normal fucking human being, Bakugou was gonna be home late.
He groaned, relishing in the comfort of a front seat, stretching his legs with a satisfying sigh. Trying to ignore the jabber in the back seat, Jirou and Sero arguing over Janis Joplin of all the things to argue about, he pulled out his phone and texted his mom.
                              >I'll be home late. Probably by an hour.
He stuck it back into his pocket. He got bad headaches if he looked at his phone too while sitting in a moving car. A pain in the ass migraine wasn't worth chatting with his fucking mom.
Kaminari hummed a toon next to him, drumming on the steering wheel as he started down the road. Bakugou watched him closely through narrow, unsure eyes. Something had been fucking weird about him all day. It wasn't something you wouldn't be able to notice unless you'd known him for four years, which Bakugou had, but it was definitely there.
He was more...fucking flinchy or some shit, way less talkative than usual. Jesus, usually Bakugou found his endless conversations torturous, but in the absence of them for the whole seven hour ride (barely a fuckin' peep) it was...surreal? Almost? Even now, that smile he wore as he hummed the Ghostbusters theme was fucking flakey and weak.
Maybe Bakugou was just imagining it. Just cause he was a little quieter and a little jumpier didn't mean that there was something wrong. Hell, maybe he's just got a stomach ache or some shit, nothing to be skeptical and maybe even a bit suspicious about.
                              ...But fucking still...
He probably would have asked if it weren't for the other three in the car, playfully and happily chatting in the back about god knows what now, it seemed like Janis Joplin was a topic of the past. None of them seemed to have the slightest clue that something was up with Kaminari, they were usually un-observational like that. Even Jirou who seemed to be the smartest was oblivious.
