Alexa POV
We needed to find the spy and quickly, but working out how to do that exactly had proved... Challenging to say the least. Whoever this person was their cover wasn't going to be obvious. So, after listening to Skywalker and Kenobi discuss their plan, I decided that I was tired of waiting and left to go and find the guy myself. There had to be some mistake that he'd made that would lead us to him. It probably just took a trained eye to see it.
Of course I'm not saying that Kenobi and Skywalker aren't trained, they're Jedi after all, but being a street rat gives a unique perspective. I've seen the operations of a few low life creeps in my short lifespan. So naturally I figured that if anyone could find something, it might just happen to be me.
That was why I found myself feeling slightly confused when my first thought was to go and check the security holos. That was a move that Kenobi or Rendal would typically make, not me. So why was I looking there? To be honest I didn't know, but it was what my gut was telling me to do and if I know anything it's to always go with my gut. It was rare that it told me the wrong thing. Because of that I was going over all of the holos from the night of the kidnapping until this point, I watched every minute of the footage to spot any suspicious activity.
After hours of watching I had come up with nothing and from what I'd heard the masters hadn't come up with anything. I was used to leaping into action, not sitting here staring at screens. If this didn't work then I had no idea what we were going to do. We were waisting hours and we couldn't afford to be doing that, not when a life was at stake.
Thankfully someone came to pay me a visit just when I was about reading to scream and start slicing through everything with my lightsaber.
"Hey." It was Rendal and he walked over to stand next to me, placing his hand on my shoulder even as I kept my eyes on the security holo. "How are you doing?"
"Hi. Not great. Have you and the others had any luck with... Anything?" I asked, hoping that maybe there was some scrap of news.
"No, nothing yet, and I think that your master is starting to go crazy."
"Well so am I, so far I haven't found a thing."
"This guy can't hide forever, he must have left some trail, some clue."
"That's what I thought, but so far all I have for my trouble is a headache from watching these useless security holos."
"I'm sorry. But I think that what you're doing is a good idea, this should turn up something, I mean it's got to if he's been inside the palace before."
"Thanks, I hope you're right. It just seems to be taking forever."
"I guess you've just got to have a little patience."
"Yeah and we both know how good I am at that." I chuckled.
"True." He smirked. He was about to say something else when I stopped him.
"Wait." I paused the holo when I thought I saw something. "Am I crazy or am I seeing someone who doesn't belong?" In the corner of the room shown in the holo was a man who didn't appear to have any reason to be in the palace, yet there he was, just idly standing there. He was dressed as a servant so that he would appear inconspicuous at the time, and even now part of me wondered if maybe I was over scrutinising this, but his actions were still strange. A real servant would have tasks to do and wouldn't have time to just stand around. Plus, it was all too convenient that his face couldn't be seen.
"That must be him." Rendal said, pointing to the same guy. "We should tell Masters Kenobi and Skywalker."
"You go and tell them, I'll keep watching this and see what he does."
