Amry woke with a start. She could hear voices all around her, but her eyes stayed shut.
"Will she be okay?"
"She's in a coma, who knows," one answered. She easily recognized the angelic voice of her mother.
Her father spoke next, "What happens if she doesn't wake up anytime soon?"
"You'll need to make a decision if it comes to that. If she doesn't wake up soon, you'll need to choose between letting her stay in darkness, or letting her be free," an unknown voice spoke. She guessed it was the doctor.
Amry didn't know what to think of it. She lived. Offered another chance, but without being awake. She tried opening her eyes, and to her surprise, they complied.
But she wasn't the one looking up at her family.
She was staring down at herself.
