As Iris was making her way through the school's hallways, she stopped when she heard someone calling her name. She frowned and spun around, but once she saw nobody, she kept walking. She did have to go to the greenhouse to meet with Professor Sprout so she could "give her the detention Merrythought asked her to give". But in truth, the two women just stood there, taking care of some plants and talking. Even if Pomona Sprout was quite older than Iris, they both got along great and the hour she had to daily spend with her for the rest of the month was quite pleasurable.

"Iris. Stop!" Again, the same voice. And again she stopped. But before she could even react, a very familiar boy practically materialized in front of her and she let out a cry a surprise.

"Remus!" She yelled. "Bloody hell!"

"Well, hello to you too." He smirked at her.

"How do you do that?" Iris asked, ignoring his sarcastic comment. "You just came out of nowhere!"

"Here." He said, giving her a cloth and Iris looked up suspiciously at him. "It's a Invisibility Cloak. Look." And then, with a swift movement, he threw the soft material over her shoulders and step back.

Iris looked down, but instead of seeing her own body, she saw nothing at all. Again, she yelp in surprised, but when she lifted her hand underneath the cloak and still saw nothing, she squealed in delight. Remus chuckled at her, before reaching over and gripping the cloak from around her.

"Don't tell James I've showed you this." He said, pulling the cloth from her. "He likes to the idea of him knowing something you don't."

Iris giggled at that and stared at the boy. Somehow, he had even more scars on his face since the last time she saw him. But this time, she wasn't confused at all with that. In that particular Defense Against the Dark Arts class, as she was reading the Official Book of Creatures by the Ministry of Magic, she finally understood. She understood why Remus disappeared for a day or so every once in a while. She understood why he always seemed so tired every time he came back from his absence. She understood why, every month, he seemed to get more and more scars across his face. But above all, she understood why those bright green eyes of his held so much pain and fear in them even when he was smiling and laughing with his friends. Apparently Remus Lupin couldn't be 100% happy any time of his life.

"What are you doing out?" She asked, afraid that she had stayed in silence for far too long. "It's almost curfew."

"What are you doing out?" He retorted and she raised an eyebrow at him.

"I have detention. What is your excuse, Mr. Lupin?"

"Not nearly as good as yours." He chuckled and she laughed as well. "I just... I needed to talk to you."

"Now? It's not a good time, Remus... I need to go to Professor Sprout and I'm already late so..."

"You don't have to go there." He said, reaching out to grab her arm, so she wouldn't walk past him.

"Of course I do, I have detention, Remus."

"Yeah, but I mean... It's already been a week with Professor Sprout. I'm sure she doesn't even give you anything else to do. You just go there for Merrythought's sake." He said and she smiled at him.

"You're too smart for your own good, you know that?" She said, half surprised, half amused.

"I'm right, then?"
