"Another A, then, Pads?" James laughed as he followed his friends out of the Potions Class, fixing his glasses back up in his nose.

"If he's lucky enough." Peter snickered and James placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Shut up, Wormtail. My potion was going perfectly well-"

"Thanks to me." Remus interrupted, but Sirius just kept talking as if he had never been interrupted.

"...decided it would be fun to ruin the whole thing."

"Who are you talking about, Pads?" James frowned, since Remus had spoken up in the exact moment Sirius said the name.

"Snivellus, of course. Who else, Prongs?"

"He ruined your potion?"

"Of course. Didn't you see him waving his wand underneath his desk just before my potion exploded?"

"Sorry, Pads. I was busy with something else."

"Evans, I'm sure." Sirius rolled his eyes. "Seriously, Prongs, you really need to..." He stopped walking and opened his arms wide, preventing Peter from walking by him. "Look who's there, all alone." He smirked, nodding gently toward no one other than Severus Snape standing a few feet away from them, in the end of the corridor. "I guess he needs some company. What do you reckon, Prongs?"

"I quite agree with you, Pads." James smirked, before walking beside his best friend as they made their way toward the Slytherin boy.

Remus sighed heavily and Peter gulped. Even so, both of them followed James and Sirius, standing a few inches back, as they both taunted Severus, as usual.

"So... You think you can mess with my potion and get away with it, Snivellus?" Sirius asked, crossing his arms over his chest as Severus rolled his eyes.

"You did the same to me last month." He responded.

"I needed that grade!"

"As if you care for those, Black." Severus spat, turning around to leave. "I'm sure you have a lot more to think about than your Potions grade."

"And what's that supposed to mean, Snivellus?" It was James turn to ask, and at the sound of his voice, Severus snapped, forgetting the last bit of patience he had toward the boys and yelling:

"You're up to something, I know it. And it's something big."

"Maybe we're just-"

"Don't bother lying to me." He interrupted James. "I know where you go every month, and if you think I didn't notice a pattern you are very wrong."

At those words, the four boys froze and Severus smirked, even more when he noticed Remus' pale face, his green eyes meeting his black ones for half a second, trying to understand the meaning of his words. Trying to figure out how much of a control Severus Snape would be able to have over him.

"You have no idea what you're talking about." James growled and now, even small and fearful Peter had given a step forward, to stand beside his friends, in front of Remus.

"Oh, I do have an idea. It's a crazy idea, but I just have to gather enough proof." Severus said, and Sirius resisted the urge to spit at him.

"What do you need proof for?" He asked, his hand on the wand on his pocket, almost begging Severus to just give him a reason.

"Go away, Snape." James placed an arm in front of Sirius, not once allowing his glance to leave the Slytherin, who was incredibly satisfied with the effect he had managed over them. "Go away and never talk about this conversation with anyone."
