Chapter 7:
Besson

"'Cause you don't love yourself"
-Chris Sails (Letters To My Ex)

Corbyn took the last bite of his sandwich before beginning to pack his belongings. Zach and Daniel watched his rush form, furrowed eyebrows and confusion evidently written across their features. Corbyn didn't think too much about it though as he threw his trash away in a nearby bin, before throwing his school bag over his shoulder. He gave the other two a smile getting ready to leave when Daniel's voice had stopped him.

"You seriously wanna see Jonah that bad?"

Corbyn turned around, red tinting his cheeks. He shook his head though and tightened his grip on his bag.

"No. Just want these tutoring lessons to be done and over with" Corbyn answered. Daniel stood from his seat and moved so he stood in front of him. "Don't worry though, we only have at least five more lessons before he has to take the test. After that I'm all yours."

"All mine?" Daniel smirked. Corbyn's eyes went wide as he felt his cheeks burn once more.

"Well, and Zach. We're all friends" Corbyn quickly fumbled out.

"Oh, okay. See ya later, blondie" Daniel smiled. Corbyn nodded as he turned on his heels and quickly made his way towards the field bleachers. He had already spotted multiple other people talking and minding their business on the bleachers, making him search a little more for Jonah. He grinned a little as he seen the other in the corner, book in hand as he looked highly concentrated.

Corbyn approached him, his form blocking some of the light that was provided for Jonah to read. The older looked up, ready to scold whoever dared to disturb him. But he stayed silent as he seen that it was just Corbyn. His tensed form had relaxed as he closed the book and crossed his arms. Corbyn took a seat next to him, placing his bag near his feet.

"Good to know you actually commit to these lessons" Corbyn chuckled as he started to rummage through his bag. Jonah rolled his eyes.

"I don't actually need them."

Corbyn stopped his search and snapped his attention towards Jonah; who was pulling out a cigarette from the box it came in.

"What do you mean don't need them? Then why the hell am I here?" Corbyn wondered and eyeing the male before him. Jonah gave a chuckle, flicking the lighter and instantly lighting the stick that was being held between his lips.

"Because I still need help" Jonah exhaled. "Wow, for a smarty pants you sure are dumb."

Corbyn glared.

"No, you just make no sense. And what did I tell you about smoking?" The blonde waves his hands around, as if it would clear the air. "Do you wanna die early?"

"I wouldn't mind it."

Corbyn looked at him in disbelief. But with a huff, he once again searched his bag, before pulling out his science book, pencil and an extra notebook. He opened to the appropriate pages, thinking it was best if he just gave Jonah the over view of the topics they would be tested for.

"You ready?" Corbyn wonders as he looks to see Jonah staring off into the bright blue sky. And at his words the older shakes his head.

"I'll make you a deal Besson. You get me an A and I'll quit" Jonah smirked as he blew out a puff of smoke. It was lunch and the two sat on the football bleachers hoping to study a little bit for the science final that was coming up.

Almost instantly, Corbyn perked at his words, looking at him through his thick black rimmed glasses. His mouth hung agape as he stared at the other in disbelief.

"You keep your mouth open like that and I might get the wrong idea and think you want to give me head" Jonah chuckled, as he flicked his bud of a cigarette down, stepping on it. Corbyn on the other hand turned a deep red.

"S-Sorry" Corbyn stumbled as he shifted his position a little uncomfortable. He immediately put his attention back on the older, clearly taking him up on his offer. "You'll seriously quit?"

"Yeah, you got my promise. And I never break my promises" Jonah stated as he leaned back a little, kicking his feet up so they rested on Corbyn's backpack. The faux blonde quickly pushed his feet off, glaring slightly at the other.

"Fine. You got yourself a deal." Corbyn sighed as he stuck his hand out. Jonah went to grab it, but stopped as another thought popped up.

"But what if I fail?" Corbyn snorted at that. Never has one of his students failed when he tutored them. Jonah rolled his eyes at the fake blonde. "What I'm saying is, if I don't get an A...I'm allowed to boss you around for a week."

Corbyn's eyes went wide at this, but nodded nevertheless.

"Alright, now shake my hand before I tell Mr Clifford that I refuse to help you."

Jonah took the other's hand, making sure that the deal was sealed.

And it was.

The outside school bell had rung, making the faux blonde jump the tiniest. He sighed as he knows he'll never be able to actually teach Jonah anything. The brunette on the other hand had smiled as he stood to his feet. Corbyn followed his lead, being the first to step down the rows of seats. He wasn't able to make it far, when Jonah had grabbed ahold of his wrist and brought him back.

"How about I take you somewhere after school?" Jonah wondered, bringing their faces close together. Corbyn felt his cheeks heat, him shaking his head for an answer. "Great! Meet me in the courtyard. And don't worry, you can bring your books to try and help me study again."

Corbyn smiled at the news. Jonah dropped the grip he had, making the other quickly scurry off. It caused the brunette to sigh. He had no idea why he was suddenly letting go of his tough act whenever Corbyn was around. He did it for no one else.

Not even for Daniel.
