"Wake up!"

"No."

The sound of curtains being jerked back and the bright light caused Madison to groan and turn over.

"Get up!" Blaire shouted excitedly.

"Yeah, get your arse up. If I have to wake up early on a Sunday, then so do you," Mallory said grumpily, still in her pajamas.

"Why are you all awake so early on a Sunday?" Madison groaned, pulling the blanket up over her head. Carter ripped it back.

"Because it's a very special Sunday," she said with a mischievous smile.

"Did Umbitch die?" Madison asked as she buried her face in her pillow.

"No?" Carter said questioningly.

"Then I don't think it's very special," Madison said.

"Madison, do you realize what today is?" Blaire asked carefully.

"Yeah. It's my birthday. I aged," Madison said, finally getting out of bed.

"And that's exciting!" Blaire said.

"I suppose," Madison said as she stumbled into the bathroom.

The truth was that Madison hadn't been looking forward to her birthday. It would be a good opportunity for her parents to get back into contact with her. She dreaded the idea, but at the same time she felt that if her parents didn't contact, then it meant she truly lost her family. And she wasn't sure if she was ready for something so final. Either way, she couldn't win.

And this year she hadn't forgotten. It was almost impossible with how much her friends hyped about it. Carter and Blaire had started telling her "Happy Early Birthday" last week. Fred and George managed to keep plenty of hype in it as well. Each day they presented her with a flower and candy. She was honestly curious to see what they planned today. At the same time, she wanted to keep it simple and relax, but she wasn't going to be granted such a wish.

"Now hurry up and get ready," Blaire called, "you're meeting Harry and Ron for breakfast and then playing Quidditch."

"Quidditch?" Madison called back, "why?"

"To practice," Blaire answered. "Why else?"

"I don't remember setting this up," Madison said as she walked out of the bathroom.

"You did," Mallory answered quickly, grabbing clothes and shoving Madison right back into the bathroom. "Now change and hurry along little one."

"Fine," Madison grumbled.

When she was dressed, she walked out of the bathroom and started to leave the dorm. "You guys are being weird," Madison commented.

"Love you too!" they shouted in unison as Madison walked out of the common room.

"The Badger is running," Mallory said quietly before the girls jumped into action.

"Morning boys," Madison said with a yawn as she walked into the Great Hall. It wasn't particularly full as most students were probably still sleeping. In fact, it seemed all of her other friends were still asleep.

"Morning Mad-" Ron was interrupted with a large yawn.

"Mood," Madison said, grabbing a croissant.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Oh uh- It means 'same' or 'me too'," Madison said, "just American slang."
