My alarm blared in my ear and I groaned as I rolled over and slammed my hand down on it. It immediately stopped and I rubbed my hands over my face trying to wake up. Stumbling I walked over to the door and pulled it open quietly, tip-toeing over to the bathroom.  I turned on the shower and quickly undressed and got in. My bathroom is a little smaller than my room and the shower only has cold water, but when my parents beat me it comes in handy to stop the swelling from the hits.

I stepped out and brushed my teeth before sneaking back into my room and getting dressed in a faded tight blue shirt and ripped skinny jeans. Most of the clothing I wear is really old because I only get shopping money every month and it’s not much.

I don’t use it all anyways, I save half away and one day I’ll have enough to run away.

I glided down the stairs and grabbed an apple before slipping my backpack on my shoulder and quickly leaving for school. I walked slowly and ate my apple while I enjoyed the fresh air. When I got to school I was early so I went to see my favorite teacher, Mr. Brayden. He is about the only person on the face of this whole entire earth who seems to care at all about me. When I got to his room I knew instantly he wasn’t here because he always comes early so that if I need to come and talk to him I can.

As I walked back to my locker people started to come in to the school talking about how they were going to spend their weekends and whether or not they looked cute. It was all pointless conversation in my opinion. I spotted Sammy with his friends and looked anywhere but at him as I turned to open my locker and put my stuff away.

“Hey Samileb get over here so I can give you a nice beat down!” Sammy boomed across the locker bay, just as I closed my locker. I groaned and then turned around slowly, mustering up all of the courage I could.

“Just leave me alone Sammy.” I said shyly but loud enough so he could hear. I turned around to start walking, but as soon as I did I heard shoes squeaking as he ran towards me. I braced myself for the pain and sure enough it came. Exploding first in my right temple, I crumpled onto the floor and willed myself not to cry.

He kicked me in the stomach and I looked up to see an odd look in his eyes. He looked almost… pained he always had that look but I never understood why. I must have really taken a lot of blows if I thought that Sammy cared. I whimpered as he kicked my chest before blacking out from the pain. Sammy is one of the popular guys. He’s really fit and he has lightly tanned skin. I’ve been inevitably in love with him since the 4th grade but that’s when he started bullying me. My ex-best friend Jessica told me that he said I was fast and that he hated me and wanted nothing to do with me. I have cried myself to sleep every single night without fail since that day. I’m so in love with him that when he hurts me I feel happy because he is actually noticing my existence.

When I awoke I was in the hallway by my locker where I had passed out. No one cared to help me because Mr. Brayden wasn't there. This kind of bullying happens a lot and no one cares but if Mr. Brayden finds out no one helped me he gets very angry. People only help when he's around, so since he was gone no one cared about helping me. It was second period but I was in too much pain to stay.

I got up and walked as quickly as I could to the washroom puking up my apple until I was dry heaving. I gasped for air as I slumped onto the floor and tried my hardest to keep in my tears. I got up and limped to my locker and as I packed my bag I noticed a sharp pain in my rib cage with every move. Sammy had probably broken my rib cage and it burned the whole time I was packing. I finished after what seemed like an eternity and started to walk home. I walked slowly to make sue when I got there my parents would already be gone.
