Halfbreed

Chapter 1

Soooooo I'm gonna call Keith and Lance yorak and Brax for right now, there will be a name switch later on but for now it's Yorak and Brax. If this gets too confusing please let me know!

"Yorak" Krolia moved towards her son.

"Yeah?" Yorak answered.

"Kolivan would like to see you"

"What did I do wrong this time?" Yorak asked.

"I wish I could tell you, now go before he gets mad" Krolia beckoned.

"you wanted me?" Yorak saw Kolivan waiting for him.

Then he saw someone else waiting there with him, "Oh no..." Yorak whispered.

"Yorak, you and Brax are going on a mission-"

"Why'd you choose Yorak of all people? He's a halfbreed!" Brax pouted.

Yorak narrowed his eyes, "and what's wrong with being a halfbreed?"

"I just can't imagine your mom having a child with another species" Brax shrugged.

Yorak took a few steps closer, "are you trying to insult my father?"

"So what if I am?" Brax decided to test his luck.

Yorak grabbed Brax's hood, "I swear-"

"Yorak, stop" Kolivan put a hand on his shoulder, "and Brax, be nice"

Kolivan sighed, "Anyways, we need you two to infiltrate a Galra ship"

"That's it? What else is there to do?" Brax asked.

"Voltron is going to be there, you need to prove to them that the Blade of Marmora is trust worthy" Kolivan said.

"Ok, come on Brax!" Yorak called, already walking away.

"Hey! Who said you were in charge?!" Brax ran to catch up.

Brax chuckled a little, "It's kinda funny how I'm much taller than you, yet I still need to run to catch up with you, halfbreed"

Yorak didn't say anything but only gave Brax a look, "Ok! Sorry" Brax put his hands up in defence.

"There's the lions" Yorak pointed out.

"I know, I have eyes" Brax said.

Yorak sighed, "Lets just go"

They entered the ship then put their masks on, "so we're looking for the new paladins, right?" Brax asked.

"Yeah" Yorak nodded, "find the paladins, fight along side them, gain their trust, form alliance, boom done"

"I've never heard you use 'boom done' before" Brax smiled under his mask.

"Well now I just did" Yorak kept looking around.

"We have some soldiers incoming" Yorak said.

"and I thought this was gonna be easy" Brax sighed.

They both took out their blades and got ready for the soldiers coming at them. Once the soldiers rounded the corner both of their blades transformed into their swords. It didn't take too long to get rid of the two or three soldiers and when they were done fighting they immediately started moving faster to find the paladins of voltron.

For now I'm gonna make the blue and red paladins Allura and James because y'know Allura is the blue paladin and James was the first person I could think of.
"is that them?" Brax pointed out five figures in different armour than the Galra.

"Must be" Yorak said, moving towards the paladins.

"Who are you?" The green paladin asked, turning towards Brax and Yorak.

Yorak put his arms up in defence, "please, do not be alarmed, we're apart of the Blade of Marmora, we were sent on a mission to ally with you, so please give us a chance to earn your trust"

"how can we trust you if we don't know who you are?" The blue paladin asked.

Yorak sighed, but removed his mask while Brax did the same, "I'm Yorak and this is Brax, now shouldn't we move forward?"

"You're Galra... How can we possibly trust you either way?" The blue paladin looked very irritated.

"Wait... I think we should give them a chance" the black paladin said.

"Really Shiro? You heard Allura, they're Galra how can we know they won't try anything?" The red paladin was clearly on Allura's side.

"Have they shown any signs of being a threat?" Shiro asked, "No, they haven't, just trust me when I say that we will give them a chance and if they do anything, I give you full permission to emprison them"

"Thank you" Yorak smiled.

"So, what are we even doing?" Brax asked.

"Well, they were attacking a nearby planet, so we're just getting rid of this ship" the green paladin said.

"alrighty, shouldn't be too hard" Brax shrugged.

"Well, we've wasted enough time, I believe we should move forward" Allura said.

"so, I never got all of your names, I know you two are Shiro and Allura, but I don't know the rest of your names" Brax asked.

"I'm Pidge" the green paladin waved.

"I'm Hunk" the yellow paladin smiled.

"I'm James" the red paladin said.

Shiro looked at Yorak, "you know, you remind me of a child I used to babysit on earth when I was younger"

"Really?" Yorak said.

"Yeah, the second I saw your face it really brought me back to those years" Shiro smiled.

"What was his name?" Yorak asked.

"Keith" Shiro answered.

"Keith" Yorak repeated, "that's a nice name"

"Yeah, he was full of energy" Shiro smiled, "But, one day I showed up to his house and he wasn't there, his father said that he died... I just can't bring myself to believe that he's gone..."

"Well maybe he's not" Yorak said.

"What?" Shiro looked puzzled.

"Well, he had a mother, didn't he? Maybe his mother took him, I didn't grow up with a father so maybe his mother decided to raise him like my mother" Yorak said.

"True... I just don't understand why his father would keep it a secret" Shiro.

"I've heard human emotions make humans lie and even do bad things sometimes, I'm a halfbreed myself, so I've kept things secret and lied to make myself feel better" Yorak said.

"Wait, you're a halfbreed? You don't look like one" Shiro said.

"I know, but trust me, Brax teases me all the time about it" Yorak looked back to see Brax flirting with the blue paladin.

Shiro was silent for a few moments, "wait-"

Before Shiro could say anything, they realized they were surrounded by Galra soldiers. Yorak and Brax took their blades out while the other paladins took out their bayards. Even though Yorak and Brax weren't the friendliest towards each other, they fought well together and would stick together most of the time. The fight didn't last too long and after the soldiers were taken care of, they all stopped to breathe, "I hope we are trust worthy now" Yorak said before turning and leaving with Brax following close behind.

"Yorak wait-" Shiro could only say before they were gone.

The thought kept lingering in his mind,
