11. If I Fell

Kathryn continued to pace back and forth backstage. As she was about to place the tip of her nails into her mouth her mommy Min yelled at her. 

"Anak! Kanina ka pa diyan lakad ng lakad. Sumasakit na ang ulo ng mga tao dito sa backstage," Min said as she stepped forward and held her daughter by the shoulders. "And don't bite your nails! Ganda na nga ng nail polish mo eh."

Kathryn shook her head as if to shake off her nerves. "Sorry ma. Sobrang nerbyos ko kasi." 

"O, ba't naman? Anak, ilang taon ka na din nasa ASAP noh..." Min replied.

"Eh ma, iba kasi parang... It's my birthday prod. so parang ako talaga yung focus, walang kagroup o partner ..."

"Ang ibig mo sabihin walang Daniel Padilla sa tabi mo." Kathryn's make-up artists, Mike Bawa said.

Kathryn's eyes widened and her cheeks turned red. "Sira ka, kuya Mike! Hindi noh... It's just been a while na ako ang nagproprod nangmagisa?"

"O, ba't naging question ang sagot mo? Di sure? Hahaha! Ewan ko sayong bata ka. You're so pakipot!"

"You're so conyo, kuya! Hahaha!"

"Ayun, tumawa na si bebe girl. Okay ka na? Don't worry, keri mo yan, teh. Two minutes nalang, ikaw na. Inhale, exhale." Mike said as he left Kathryn alone to recollect herself.

Kathryn sat down on one of the chairs and closed her eyes, inhaling and exhaling. 

"Hay nako, Kath. You're depending too much on DJ. Kaya mo yan. Kaya mo yan, Kath." She mumbled to herself.

*ding* 

Kathryn quickly looked at her iPhone as she heard it sound. It read one new text message.

Pottie Padilla 

Ba, nagtext sakin si kuya Mike. Sabi niya sobrang ninenerbyos ka daw. Don't be, okay? Imagine mo nalang nasa backstage ako hinihintay kita. I'm sorry di ako makapunta for your birthday prod, but I'll see you tomorrow okay? Subic escapade! Yeah men! Sige, good luck. I'm watching you on tv, kasama ko pa si Lelay at Magui. ;) Love you, Ba! :********* Go man!

Kathryn let out a breath and smiled to herself. 

To: Pottie Padilla

Thank you, Pot. :) See you din. Paki sabi kela Mags and Lelay sabi ko hello! I miss them na! <3 Hihi. Okay thanks bro. :P Lol.

"Kath? Ikaw na next. Set up na daw," one of the ASAP crew members said.

Kathryn nodded, gave her phone to her mommy Min, and walked to the stage. It was super dark since they were still setting up. She suddenly felt cold. She wasn't sure if it was because she was super nervous or if it was because of her outfit - which was super revealing, but it was cute. She smiled thinking of what Daniel would have said if he was with her.

"Kathryn! 3 seconds. Dun ka na sa moon." said one of the dancers who was dressed as a fairy.

Kathryn sat on the moon props with her back to the people, waiting for her introduction. "ASAP, please welcome, the birthday girl, Kathryn Bernardo!" 

She had expected the lights to go on so she could begin performing, but that wasn't what happened. Instead, she heard a voice. His voice.

"Dati napapanood ko lang siya. Simple, mabait, maganda. Pero kahit noon pa, bilib na ko sa kanya. Astig na sa comedy- the best pa sa drama. At habang lumalaki, pinakita niya talaga na mahusay siyang artista. At ang tadhana nga naman, sa dinamidami ng pwedeng makaloveteam niya, ako pa ang swerteng napili nila. Sa growing up, hanggang sa Princess and I, nabuo ang KathNiel. At akalain niyo yun, ngayon may pelikulang kami na ang bida..."
