"And that," Jimin crossed his arms. "Is why I stay away from butterflies as much as I could," He concludes with satisfactory.
"Pfft, that's better because you don't see a butterfly everyday. Microwaves are home essentials." Jungkook scoffs.
It's been almost three quarters of an hour of walking with everyone blabbering about nonsense, and I haven't really joined in on their conversations. I'm still shocked how Harlow, a girl who was drunk, is not panicking about this entire situation and seems totally fine. I mean everyone is chill but maybe it's what Jimin was talking about, the five stages of grief or whatever. I wonder when they'll just stop pretending we're fine and actually realise the fact and accept it, but it's not like people skip from the first stage of grief to the last.
"Guys, we've been walking for a while now. Don't you think we're going deeper into the center of the woods instead of getting close to shore?" I thought aloud.
"That's most likely impossible, because we walked from the shore to the woods in thirty minutes and if you guys found us in thirty minutes from the opposite side of the shore, it would take a total maximum of an hour to walk from one side of the woods to the other because the perimeter of this island isn't that big." Yoongi informed dronefully.
"We get it Yoongi, you're smart." Harlow muttered under her breath and rolled her eyes. Gee, what happened when I was gone?
"What was that hun?" Yoongi turned around to glance at her with a big smirk smothered over his cute little face.
"Nothing," She grumbled.
"Haha, um so since it's been about forty minutes we might be near the shore." Taehyung cut in with an awkward chuckle after checking his watch (which was hard due to little Yeontan in his arms). He then proceeded to chat with Jungkook after breaking the intense staring between the two, leaving me time to squirm through to talk to Harlow.
"So," I pronounced sharply, causing her to flinch at my sudden presence next to her. "What happened while I was gone? Seems like you and Yoongi got some beef on each other."
"What happened with you and Jimin then?" She smirked.
"Yah! You planned all this, didn't you? Well I asked first, so..."
"Ugh, lets just say Yoongi and I don't get along well. I was always assigned to do Jungkook's makeup so I never really spoke to him, but after being with him for half and hour and counting, oh boy." She simply sighed.
"'oh boy'? What's that supposed to mean?" I laughed. "But nothing really happened with Jimin, although he's still sweetly holding your bag."
"My bag? With my french moisturizer and toner?" She flailed her arms out, shoving Jungkook and Taehyung causing them to lose their balance. They both fell into the prickly bushed filled with wet residue from the fog, followed by Yeontan springing out of Taehyung's arms. Without a blink minding her bias and bias wrecker, she practically ran past them and snatched the bag out of Jimin's hands, interrupting his conversation with Yoongi.
Jimin turned with an absurd expression before Harlow replied with a weak chuckle as she retreated herself and scurried back to me clutching her precious bag while apologizing.
"What's in that dear cherishable bag of yours, anyway?" Yoongi scoffed as he turned around to help Taehyung and Jungkook up from the bushes.
"Why, are you curious?" She stuck her tongue out at him.
"Yah! You know I'm in the position to fire you from your job, right?"
"Then fire me, you dangerous man." Harlow rolled her eyes.
It looked as if he was about to explode so I quickly stepped in. "Haha... please excuse her, she was just joking. Just ignore her.." I gave a weak smile and steered her away from his gaze.
"Okay, you really need to tell me what's up with you and Yoongi," I laughed as I hunched close to her face.
"Nothing, he's just being a brat." She groans. Unfortunately, before I could catapult more questions at her vigorously, our conversation was quickly distracted when Jungkook pointed something out.
"Hey, guys, you hear that?"
"It's Mother Nature. See and feel the colors of the wind, guys." Taehyung stuck his arms out from his sides like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil with his eyes shut.
"No, you idiot. It's the sound of waves. We're near the shore!" He ran ahead.
"Finally," Jimin sighed and jogged after the maknae, leaving Taehyung the Redeemer statue there with his eyes still shut 'feeling the wind'.
"Wake up, dummy." Yoongi flicked his forehead, causing him to shriek.
"Oh," He blinked a few times before softly calling for his adorable obeying dog to follow. It was such a pretty view to see Taehyung running ahead with the wind blowing elegantly followed by a puppy chasing after him yapping happily. My thoughts quickly snapped back to reality when I realized I was still standing there next to Harlow and Yoongi just staring.
"Forget asking for more info, I need light asap. I'm sick of being trapped under the darkness of these trees." I breathed and shoved through, running to catch up with Jungkook, Taehyung and Jimin.
As I ran ahead, I could see the glimmering of the reflection of the moonlight on the waves through the trees. The hard, packed dirt slowly altered to sand engulfing my flip-flops. It feels so great to see this familiar view again, and it was even prettier at night. The oxford blue sky was speckled with tiny dancing stars but above it was periwinkle fading into a purple-yellow shade with slender pink clouds with white undertone feathered across. I guess sunrise starts pretty early here. In fact, I was so distracted by the dark night sky I forgot I ditched Harlow back there in the woods.. alone..with Yoongi.
I smirked at the thought for some reason, and instantly turned back to the woods, seeing two silhouettes racing over, their laughter echoing in the pitch black forest.
"Cute, right?" Jimin suddenly was standing next too me, watching his hyung and my friend.
"Yeah," I giggled. "One moment they're arguing and the next they're laughing and racing each other in the woods. Such kids."
"Mhm I guess we're both team hargi," He agreed.
"Did you just make a ship name for them?" I laughed and turn to see his expression only to see his face examining mine admiringly. Crap. We had direct eye contact. Strangely, I didn't turn away despite my face basically red from his warm cognac eyes. It was as if my body had a mind of its own, and I hated it. I noticed in the corner of my eye Harlow running up loudly but quickly stopping and when Yoongi caught up, she shoved him back and shushed him. Gurl, you suck at stalking people. I can literally hear and see everything.
I quickly broke the eye contact when Jimin suddenly smirked, probably because of my heated cheeks. Well that was awkward, we were talking a moment ago until we started doing this heart-racing staring contest that started spontaneously.
"What was that? Love at first sight?" Yoongi scoffed loudly, interrupting my thoughts which were buzzing everywhere casing a migraine.
"Shut up!" Harlow slapped Yoongi's chest and dragged him farther from us.
"Great, way to produce the tension, am I right?" Jimin chuckled awkwardly, followed by me blinking profusely and nodding. Crap. Why won't I stop blushing. And Jimin's right, those idiots are making this way more awkward than it already is.
