16: Reunited

We all silently exchange glances, pondering on whether we should leave him or not. Harlow ends up fast walking ahead unhesitatingly so we shrug it off and follow.

"Harlow!" Yoongi called after her. Pfft, I knew it, he's too scared to sleep alone here while we leave to find Jin and Min Seo.

"I can't hear you!" She called back and continues to walk faster.
"Harlow," I laughed and caught up with her. "Wait for him,"

She groaned and stopped in her tracks, only to see Yoongi scrambling close to catch up. "Wow, I guess you really couldn't leave me, could you?" Harlow smirked.

"Says the girl who waited for me," He sneered.

We continued to walk around the perimeter; Harlow and Yoongi strangely having a normal conversation; Taehyung and Jungkook playing with Yeontan; and Jimin and I panicking.

It wasn't long before we saw the same old crusty log chilling weirdly near the woods a few meters away from us.

"Ugh, see Jimin? We just circled again, without finding a trace of Jin Hyung, Min Seo, Namjoon Hyung or Hoseok Hyung." Jungkook groaned.

"Well I'm the only one who actually had an idea! What would you do, then?" Jimin sighed.

"Wait, chill. I hear something coming from the woods." Jungkook hushed them and started to inch closer to the woods.

"Pfft, you only said that because you didn't know what to answer," Jimin scoffed.

"Yeah, as if they'll magically appear every time we lose them. It's probably just some animals, Jungkook." Yoongi rolled his eyes.

"No, for real, I hear it too! Shut up," Harlow smacks him and runs ahead, next to Jungkook which made Yoongi scowl for some reason.

I scooted close, and started to hear footsteps. Oh crap, these were totally human steps. "No way, they did not just go into the woods when we told them to wait for us at shore,"

"Oh gosh, they totally did." Jungkook groaned as he saw Jin and Min Seo step out, hand in hand. Okay, what the heck happened?
It was even weirder that Namjoon and Hoseok were tagged along right behind them.

"Do you know we circled the entire island perimeter to find you four idiots?" Taehyung's eyes widened in fury.

"Yes, actually. We saw you guys from really far away, and Namjoon and Hoseok weren't far away so we decided to go fetch the two since you guys were getting close, but when we came back you guys were gone so we left to find you guys." Jin casually states.

"Who's idiotic idea was to fetch Namjoon and Hoseok?" Harlow questioned as she tried to remain calm.

"Min Seo!" Jin accused in a panicked manner while jabbing a finger in her direction.

"Hey! You were the one that agreed!" She scowled.

"Guys, at least we all found each other, so that's great. We have Yeontan too, right?" Namjoon counted everyone, his eyes darting everywhere.

"Yep, right here," Taehyung's lifts the quiet doggo.

"Great, so it won't be long until people on the ship realize we're missing, they might do a turn soon and they'll arrive at night, maybe." The leader states casually and starts to wander, with the rest of us tagging behind.

"So... we just wait for the rest of the day?" Hoseok coughed.

"I guess," Min Seo groaned and sat down on the moist icky log. "I'm so hungry, I didn't eat anything at all the bonfire last night."

"Why? That was basically our dinner. It's around six am right now, so I'm getting hungry too even though I stuffed myself." Jungkook asked.

"Well I need to stay skinny!" Min Seo said exasperatingly.

"Right, should I go explore to find some food?" Harlow sprang up at the opportunity to be active. "My hangover faded strangely quickly, I guess we walked a lot. I don't want to keep sitting."

"No, sit your butt down, Harlow." I scolded. "We are not going to be losing anyone because we can't afford to go searching again. The least we could do is sit and wait for help altogether."

"That's boring as heck! C'mon, as long as you guys stay here, I'll be back in a few!" Harlow whined.

"That's fine, Y/N, let her go," Jin laughed. "But don't go alone, it's not safe because if something happens to you no one can come back to tell us."

"I'll go with" Yoongi offered as he rose an eyebrow and slowly stood up.

"No, not you." Harlow shoves him back down to his seat. "Jungkook? You wanna come with? I mean, you're strong, so.." She shyly suggests and he casually nods as they disappear from our view.

"Tsh, strong muscle pig it is, then." Yoongi scowled.
"Ooh, you're jelly!" Taehyung giggles, but he doesn't look up from petting Yeontan.

"I'm not, why would I like her? I like someone else already."

"Oh, is that so?" Min Seo 'casually' flips her hair off her shoulder, revealing her bare shoulders.

"Yes," He spat.

Honestly the entire time I was panicking, but now that we're all calm, I finally have time to actually process this. BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan, is surrounding me. Well, except Jungkook, but still. They sat there in silence for a second, thinking while my face just started to flush pink. Well crap, time for me to escape.

"I'm going to go by the sea, it's really pretty at this time, so..." I hesitantly stood up and started to stroll closer down to the shore, but still in their view.

"Mind if I join?" I heard a voice suddenly erupt from beside me and I almost flinched. It didn't sound like Jimin, which made me confused. I turned, and to my surprise, Yoongi stood beside me fidgeting. No wonder the voice sounded so... soothing.

"U-um, sure! Of course," I stuttered, still in shock to why he would be talking to me.

"So, you're high school friends with Harlow, aren't you?" He started.
"Yeah, why?"
"No reason," He shrugged and looked deep into the sea, admiring the waves and the calming melody of them crashing.

"You seem to have bonded with her in a short amount of time," I laughed weakly.

"Haha, true I guess. It's a little unlike me, it takes a while for someone to understand me..." He chuckled but his voice trailed off and his smile faded.

"Mhm..I guess she's affable.." I nodded and we both fell in silence for a while, but it wasn't pressuring or awkward. It was comfortable silence, and it was relaxing, for some reason.

"Do you...by any chance..." Yoongi suddenly turned to me, his soft features tracing his pale complexion glowing from the hesitant morning sun. Instead of his classy or cold stare, his eyes were somehow...tender. "...like anyone?" He finished his sentence, leaving me in shock.

Thousands of panicked feelings overwhelmed me as I stared back into his hopeful eyes. What was he implying? What should I respond? Will he use my answer in advantage or reference? ...what if I hurt him?

Why me?
