Ritsu didn't know what to do. Or rather, didn't know how to comfort Karma after what he told her.

Sure, she could've known about Nagisa's situation, but that would be invading her privacy. Not only that, but that would also mean crossing borders between the two or would it be three? Four? Whatever the number, it wasn't fair for Nagisa.

Ritsu sighed as she laid in her futon, staring at the countless monitors in her room. She saw that there was no one was in the kitchen, meaning there was no food already prepared.

Guess she'll go make breakfast then.

--------------------------------------------------

Karma's head left a bit lighter after talking with Ritsu yesterday night, but the anger still lingered. He couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't protect her like he had always promised.

Did her grandfather always know about this? Is this why he was picky in choosing Nagisa's bodyguard?

Is this why he choose Karma? Because he felt like he could protect her? Protect her from the person she calls Father?

But even of he was chosen for the job, he failed it. He failed to protect her.

Sighing, Karma kept looking at himself at the mirror.

His eyes looked foreign. His entire expression was foreign, even though it was an image he saw every morning before starting the day.

Ever since yesterday he had been feeling empty, with no purpose and yet with a tinge of hope that Nagisa was alright.

He had been trying to call her after the fiasco, but with no luck. Same thing with messaging. None of his texts were ever replied to, not even left on seen.

As if on cue, his phone got a notification. Quickly, he grabbed it and unlocked it, only to read an apology from Nagisa.

Sorry Karma. Seems like I won't be walking to school with you today. See you in class.

That's it?

Three sentences?

Yesterday's events were clearly eating at her, just like they were eating at him.

But what can he do? What can he do as her bodyguard? What can he do as her boyfriend?

The two thoughts lingered as he made his way to school, hoping that he was able to meet up with Nagisa and make sure that she was alright.
