DEREK'S POV
"That woman was about to hit her! In front of us! She was about to beat our little girl, Rachel!" I exclaim angrily to Rachel on the train
"I know! I wanted to kill her! She's OUR kid bitch! Leave her alone!" Rachel exclaims quietly but angrily
"Excuse me, mom? May I use the restroom?" Y/n asks timidly
"Of course you can, dear. Do you know where it is?" Rachel asks Y/n
"N-no... where is it?" Y/n asks with a puzzled look
"Here, let me show you, Ive got to use the restroom too." Rachel says standing up and taking Y/n's hand. Rachel and Y/n walk to the restroom when suddenly I get a phone call. It's Melissa.
"Hello? Is everything alright?" I ask Melissa scared
"Uh, well, you see, I'm transforming. Like right now." Melissa says panicking
"Shit, where the hell are you? Run to a private place, NOW." I say
"I'm at the mall. THERE ARE NO PRIVATE PLACES." Melissa says almost crying
"THE BATHROOM! Go into a stall until we get to Phoenix Drop. Do you have a beanie?" I exclaim
"Right! Okay! Thank god I love to wear beanies. Thanks, Dad!" Melissa says walking quickly
"Yup. Bye, kid, I love you."
"I love you too, Dad." Melissa says slamming the stall door and locking it.
I hang up and see Rachel and Y/n walking back. Perfect timing.
"Who were you on the phone with?" Rachel asks sitting down next to me
"Melissa had an emergency but it's all good now." I reply
"Was it a lady thing or was it a Lycan thing?" Rachel asks
"Lycan. She's at the mall. She was freaking out. She's hiding in a bathroom stall until it ends." I respond calmly
"Are you going to change Y/n? I mean it could be a good idea." Rachel asks quietly
"I'm not sure. If I do there is no way in hell I'm using my eyes. That's what fangs are for." I respond
"Did you know Lycan means werewolf? I've always wanted to be a werewolf! It's too bad I'm a witch. I've never met a witch who's a werewolf. That would be so cool!" Y/n says excitedly to Rachel and I
"Oh my! You're so smart! I never knew that! You must be quite the expert! And did you say you're a witch? Is anyone in your family a witch?" I say enthusiasticly
"Nobody is so I'm still trying to figure out where I get it from. Ooooo my mother just read my letter! Oh no. She doesn't know our address, does she?" Y/n says worriedly
"Of course not! You'll be safe, we promise." Rachel says, wide eyed
"Good because she says she's going to find us and kill all of us." Y/n says panicking
"If she even comes to O'Khasis we'll have her arrested. We saw how she was going to beat you. Has she done that before?" I said reassuring her
"She's done it many times. She's never hit Genevieve before though. She loves Genevieve too much." Y/n says looking down sadly
"I'm so sorry, Y/n. I promise we're nothing like her. We love all three of you too much to ever beat you." Rachel says almost crying
"You... you just said you love me... you just said 'all three of you'... do you mean that?" Y/n asks, slightly crying
"Of course I do! Y/n, you're our child now. We love you." Rachel says slightly crying too
"But you don't even know me. You don't know what I like or dislike, you don't know what my quirk is. And I'm a witch. Nobody loves witches." Y/n says crying more
"Not many people like bad witches but you're our family and we love our family. And you're a good witch with a kind heart." I say grabbing Y/n's hands and holding them tight
silence.
"Do you mean it?" Y/n asks one last time
"Yes, and we always will." I respond
"Thank you. For adopting me and treating me like you love me." Y/n says
I nod once. Rachel also nods.

Hello again!! I'm really enjoying writing this story so far! By the way, I won't just have Jessica's characters in this book, I'll have my own OCs too! I plan on updating once or twice a week if you guys like this story and I plan on starting some other stories along with this one! I'm sorry if this chapter seems kind of short, I didn't think the story really needed 1000 words taking place on the train to Phoenix Drop.
