AARON'S POV
It's the First day of school at my first public school. I'm in elementary I think so it can't be that hard but Melissa is in Middle school and she is terrified. I'm terrified actually. Melissa is probably perfectly fine. Who am I kidding? We're both terrified. Y/n is probably fine because she's been going to public school for her entire life. She's so lucky. Living with two sisters isn't the best but I love them both. Time for school I guess... please don't let anything insane happen.

MELISSA'S POV
Oh god. Oh god. Oh no. This cannot be happening. School starts in an hour and I'm debating on whether or not I should just fake being sick to get out of this. Mom and Dad wouldn't fall for it, if it was later in the year maybe they would but the first day? Oh hell no. Mom. Mom is going to kill me. I forgot to set my alarm! Fuuuuu-
"MELISSA GET YOUR ASS UP NOW OR YOULL MISS THE BUS!" Mom screams from downstairs
"IM UP! ILL BE DOWN AND READY IN TEN MINUTES!" I yells back
Shit. Why the hell was I so stupid?! Now I definitely don't have time to curl my hair! Ugh this is why I hate myself.
I get ready fast enough to curl my hair and I think I look pretty damn good. Now the final test. Does my family have anything bad to say about my outfit and if I have enough time to change? Ugh why am I like this?
I run down the stairs looking as flawless as a person can get in ten minutes and when I reach the bottom I walk over to the table where my family is sitting, eating breakfast.
"Oh my honey! You look so beautiful! All the girls are going to want to be your friend and all the boys will just be swooning over you!" Mom says excitedly
"Thanks Mom but I don't think that's how middle school works." I reply laughing
"Oh trust me. It is." Mom says smiling
"Well that's totally reassuring that I'll have friends." I say sarcastically rolling my eyes
"Hey Mom might be right! If she is, you'll definitely be the least popular kid in school! Don't worry, less drama!" Aaron says smirking
"Aaron! I swear!" I say through my teeth, glaring at him
"I'm just stating facts, sis." Aaron says laughing
"Aaron! Come on! You know that you two are both beautiful in your own ways!" Y/n says smiling bright
"Thank you, Y/n! At least two people in this family are smart! Aaron, you're not one of them." I say smiling
"Kids! You're going to miss the bus! Come on!" Mom exclaims, looking at her phone
"Shoot! Come on!" I exclaim jumping up and grabbing my backpack
We all make it to the bus stop on time even though we had to sprint. We stand there awkwardly until the bus comes and then Aaron and Y/n sit together so then I'm left alone to sit with a stranger. Here we go.

Y/N'S POV
Oh my Irene. I can't believe all three of us can't sit together! Melissa is probably scared out of her mind right now! I tried to scoot over so that she could sit with us but the bus driver yelled at me and told me only two to a seat unless the bus is full. Just great. I still haven't told anyone about what was happening to Genevieve but I'll tell them eventually. Genevieve should be starting school today too. Whatever, my biological family doesn't matter to me anymore. They abandoned me and I don't care what happens to them.
At the next stop a boy sits next to me across the aisle. Of course I don't start a conversation with him myself but then he starts talking to me.
"Hey, what's your name? You're really pretty." The blonde haired boy asks
"My name's Y/n. What's yours? And thank you. You look nice too." I answer nervously
"My name's Garroth. Thank you very much! Wait, what's your last name? I feel like Father has said your name before. Are you adopted?" Garroth asks with a confused look on his face
"Lycan. What's yours? And yeah, I was adopted like two weeks ago." I answer
"My dad works with your parents! My last name's Ro'meave. You wanna be friends?" Garroth asks smiling wide
"Sure! So... uh... what do friends do? Mother never let me have friends. My biological one, not Rachel." I answer smiling back
"Well, we hang out and we play together at recess and we talk to each other and stuff! You've really never had a friend before?" Garroth answers excitedly
"Never... if Mother ever found out that someone knew what she did to me... it wouldn't end well for me or my friend." I answer looking down at the aisle
"What did she do to you?" Garroth asks, looking at me
"I don't really want to talk about it right now but when I've known you longer you can know." I answer looking back up at him
"It's okay, I get it. We literally just met." He answers
"Yeah. So... what do you like to do for fun?" I ask
"Uh I play video games and I play baseball, what about you?" Garroth responds
"I like video games too and I like to write and draw too. Baseball's really cool! Can we play together sometime?" I ask
"Totally! I'll teach you how to play and you can maybe join my team when you're good enough!" Garroth responds smiling excitedly
"Awesome! I hope it won't take long to be good enough!" I say smiling back
"Me too! Do you want to play catch or something at recess?" Garroth asks still smiling
"Sure!" I answer
"Cool!" He responds
We continue to talk for the remainder of the bus ride to school and it turns out we have a lot of the same interests!
I make it through the school day and it turns out pretty good. It turns out I actually like school (more than I used to somehow). I still can't wrap my head around the whole recess thing though. They let us go outside on purpose? I don't like it that much when we go outside but I mean it's only first day and I only have one friend. Garroth is really cool and I wish we went to lunch at the same time but we don't. We have the same recess though, so I can work with that. It still kinda sucks though. I'm really happy when I get home because mom is there waiting for us.

A/n
So so sorry for the wait on this chapter, I know it's been over a month but I've had really bad writers block which is weird for me but yeah. I know it's kind of a shortish chapter but I didn't know what else to write. I'll try to get back into posting regularly, it'll give me something to do once Cross Country season is over. Thank you so much for reading, bye now!
