"She'll be alright," A muffled doctor's voice said from inside of Ahsoka's hospital room.

"When do you think she'll wake up?" Anakin heard Obi-Wan ask, "Anakin is extremely worried.. it's been two days since the incident, and he hasn't slept the entire time.."

"We aren't sure what time exactly, but she is expected to wake up sometime today or tonight," Anakin lit up with a glimmer of hope after hearing that. Ahsoka was expected to wake up soon! The doctors had said that it was normal for someone with so many injuries, like herself, to be unconscious for a few days. Anakin was just grateful she was alive and that she wasn't in some kind of coma.

"Ok, thank you, doctor."

"No problem, General. By the way, General Skywalker can come in now. I have to go, tell a nearby nurse or doctor if something seems off with Padawan Tano please," Obi-Wan nodded and the doctor walked out of the room and passed Anakin.

"Anakin, you can come in now," Obi-Wan said from inside the room. Anakin limped in with a boot on his foot because of his ankle. Apparently, he tore a tendon completely and had several broken bones in his ankle and foot.

"How is she..?" Anakin asked nervously.

"The doctor said she's expected to wake up soon. She's not supposed to move too much when she does though."

"Ok," Anakin replied, staring at Ahsoka, concern written all over his face. He wanted so badly to be able to ask her where she hurt so he could help her.

"Anakin, you really need sleep," Obi-Wan stated, interrupting Anakin's thoughts, "You haven't slept in days. It's not healthy to go without sleep for too long."

Anakin stared at Ahsoka for a moment longer before answering Obi-Wan.

"I know.. I just can't get to sleep, even if I'm tired. I just don't feel right sleeping if I know she may wake up and feel alone and scared.." He practically mumbled the last part. He was sure Obi-Wan heard, but Anakin wasn't sure if he wanted Obi-Wan to hear the last part or not.

"I understand, Anakin. Much more than I think you know," Obi-Wan claimed, "It's very hard to see anyone you care about in this kind of condition."

Anakin looked back over to Ahsoka. She moved a little- like how you would move if you were about to wake up from the worst part of a nightmare.

Anakin heard Obi-Wan's comm buzz.

"Anakin, I have to go. Stay here with her as long as you like. The doctor said to get a nearby nurse or doctor if something seems off," Obi-Wan told him. Anakin nodded, then Obi-Wan left.

Ahsoka stirred a little bit more. She looked worried and scared while she slept.

Anakin went over to her and leaned down next to her. He put his hand on hers.

"It's ok, Snips," He said in a quiet, comforting tone, "Whatever is happening in your mind is just a dream.."

She seemed to relax a very small amount when he put his hand on her's. Her breathing began to slow, as she had been breathing a little fast before.

Anakin smiled a little knowing that he was able to help her a little bit, even in her unconscious state.

After a moment of holding onto Ahsoka's hand he noticed her pulse was fading. He looked up to Ahsoka and noticed that her breathing began to slow even more.

Anakin stood up, concerned and confused. In his state of panic, he couldn't seem to remember what to do if something went wrong with Ahsoka.

He looked at her heart rate.. It kept fading.

He looked at her breathing rate.. barely any breath was being tracked.

Anakin held Ahsoka's hand tighter. He knew that, if she was going to fade like this, then there was no point in getting a doctor. At the fast rate her heart and lungs were failing, they wouldn't be able to save her... only a miracle could.

As Anakin's eyes began to fill with tears, he watched in horror as Ahsoka's heart rate continued to drop rapidly.

Fading...

Fading...

Gone.

Anakin heard her breathe her last breath. Tears began flowing down his cheeks.

*Beep........ Beep........Beep.....*

Anakin looked up to the heart rate monitor to see it going again. Anakin quickly checked Ahsoka's pulse to make sure the machine wasn't malfunctioning.

A steady pulse.

After a moment, Anakin heard a desperate gasp of air come from Ahsoka.

She sat up quickly, coughing and gasping for air.

"Ahsoka..!" Anakin cried as he embraced Ahsoka in his arms, being sure not to hug her too tight.

"Master..?" She managed to mumble in between coughs and gasps of air. She hugged Anakin back.

Anakin stopped hugging Ahsoka, But was still holding her hand. After a moment, Ahsoka was able to catch her breath.

"What happened..?" She asked quietly, "I felt.. nonexistent for a moment... like I was gone... it was a very strange feeling.."

"Ahsoka, you..." Anakin murmured, tears still falling down his cheeks, "You died for a moment..."

Ahsoka looked shocked. Who wouldn't be?

"How am I still here..?" She asked, visibly dazed and confused.

"I.. I don't know.. but I'm glad you are, because..." Anakin didn't finish his sentence.

"Because what..?" Ahsoka urged.

"Because.." Anakin still didn't finish his sentence.. he didn't need to. He leaned close to Ahsoka and put a hand on her back. They stayed like this for a short moment, both of them blushing.

The next thing either of them knew, they were kissing.
