A/N: the wait is over! And I ran out of Ratchet pics... crap. I'll just add a random video

"Since when did you ever roll down your windows?" Alex poked her head out and breathed in the salty sea air.

"Since now!" Ratchet laughed. "Here we are."

Ratchet parked and got out with Alex. They both headed towards the shore. Alex charged at the crashing surf and dived in. Not even realising she was wearing regular clothes. She popped her head out of the water and motioned for him to come in with her. He shook his head frantically as she got out and began to drag him towards the ocean.

"Alex please!" Ratchet tried.

"Nope! You wanted to go here in the first place!"

She succeeded in making him step in only up to his knees. She snickered and moved backwards behind him. Ratchet watched the waves far out on the horizon, unaware of Alex's plan. Alex charged from behind and used all the force of impact to knock him over. He crashed face first into the ocean. He stood on his hands and knees and screeched at the water seeping into his clothes.

"ALEX!" Ratched screamed.

The girl didn't respond, but rather laughed at him. He grumbled and wrung our the salt water from his clothes.

"This is not what I had in mind"

"Oh shut you're ruining my fun."

"That's the whole purpose of being the team's 'grumpy old field medic'"

Alex stuck her tongue out at him and splashed water in his face. He blinked the salty pain out of his eyes...and grinned. He stepped behind her and pushed the back of her knee with his foot. She lost balance and fell into the cool water. The two kept splashing each other for a while before the sun started going down

~le time skip~

Alex and Ratchet sat on the sandy shore, wrapped in some towels Ratched had brought. Alex watched the sunset, her eyes looked so alive. Nothing like the quiet emptiness those eyes had shown before. Ratchet chuckled to himself. Maybe this whole thing wasn't so bad after all. It seemed like the whole world had figured out its shit and was a perfect, happy place for once.

But... not for long

"Ratchet! Requesting emergency groundbridge!" Arcee screeched into her comm

Ratchet muttered something and stood up very quickly. Alex followed suit. Worry written all over her face. She shivered as the wind blew through the moist towel. Ratchet hurried her into his vehicle form and drove away so fast Alex didn't have time to put on her seatbelt.

~another time skip brought to you by Flowey the asshole~

Alex sat in the human section at the Team Prime base, watching as Ratchet powered up the groundbridge. She looked on as Ratchet himself went to take on the cons. She chewed her nails in anticipation as Ratchet left to kill Megatron.

And she went silent as her charge was brought back, battered and covered in the synthetic energon.

After all this time, Alex had nothing to say.

After all this time, Alex was silent.

~timeskip brought to you by SPEED IS KEY~

Ratchet groaned as his optics fluttered open, he remembered... something. Alex... the cons... Megatron... and sand. Lots of sand. He sat up slowly and relized he was on his own medical table. He looked around and saw Alex sitting on the couch, staring at her feet. She looked up, and her expression broke his spark. It showed her anguish, those demons resurfacing, but most importantly; fear. Ratchet activated his holoform and yelped as Alex's shaking body collided into his. She hugged him so tightly that Ratchet was afraid she'll snap his holographic spine. Neither of them had anything to say, they just comforted each other.

From that day forward, Ratchet was more aware of who he would be leaving if he died.

~aaaand other time skip, saving authors since God knows when~

Ratchet took the day off from work to take Alex places, thanks to groundbridges. First the bordwalk, then to a restaurant, finally ending up on a mountaintop watching the sunset.

     "Beautiful... isn't it?" said Alex

"Nothing like I've ever seen on Cybertron" Ratchet responded

The two stared off into the distance, not having a care in the world. Somehow, Ratchet knew what Alex was thinking.

"I made you a promise, I swore that I would never leave you. I intend to keep that promise. I'll never abandon you. The cons can say what they want. But I hold true to my oath."

Alex looked remotely surprised. Her big, blue eyes welled up with tears. She quickly coverer them and sobbed quietly. Ratchet put and arm around her and held her close. This child, he thought She's seen so much. Some things no child should ever see. She tries to be strong, but easily breaks under pain. Physically or emotionally. Primus knows what Megatron will do to her if he gets his hands on her again...

The sunlight faded into black, and stars shone brightly above. Alex watched them for hours before she fells asleep. Ratchet drove them back to base soon after

Blooper:

     "Beautiful... isn't it?" said Alex

"Nothing like I've ever seen on Cybertron" Ratchet responded

Suddenly, the mountain started rumblin. The sound of something big cracking filled the air. Dust swirled from a cavern opening. Ratchet pushed Alex behind him. Suddenly, a band of... creatures, and a human in a striped sweater, stepped out. There were goat looking monsters, two skeletons; one tall with a red scarf and a short one with a blue hoodie, a fish looking lady, and a reptilian dinosaur thing. The group stared at Ratchet and Alex.

"U- Uh, howdy" the largest monster there spoke, he was one of the goats.
"We mean you no harm. I am King Asgore of the monsters. But do not be alarmed, we wish to live with humans in peace."

"I'm Alex" Alex blurted. "and this is Ratchet"

"Wow, I wouldn't wanna mess with this guy," the shorter skeleton said "I woukd be pretty... screwed."

The smaller goat monster, the human, and Alex howled with laughter. The taller skeleton seemed pissed.

  "SAAAAAAAAAAANS!" they screamed

Anyways, I present this painfully written chapter with a little crossover at the end. Why did I do that? Why knows, I might add it into the story later

See ya later kiddos
