"What are Urban Legends?"
"They are about mythical creatures and old past stories to frighten children." I turn to stare at annoying Angie.
"Close but not exactly. Rose." The professor points at me and I look at him and around as I see everyone staring at me.
"Um. They are short stories or myths that are believed true because they are told so much around the world." I clear my throat and answer and he smiles.
"And do you believe in these legends?" He smirks.
"Of course not."
"And why not?" Everyone is staring intently at us back and forth like tennis.
"Well all they are, are stupid stories to scare children and to teach everybody a lesson." I shrug hating the spotlight.
"What about these creatures we hear and we see pictures of them?" Why is this man interrogating me!
"Well nowadays we do have photoshop and these pictures are recent none are from the past," I state.
"Very good but with this class, you all will believe in urban legends." He winks.
"Are you saying urban legends are real?" Another boy asks and I raise my brow.
"I believe anything is real. We don't have proof that they exist but we don't have proof they don't. " Everyone starts clapping and I just snort.
"This man is crazy." I laugh as I hear Susan whisper to me.
"At least this class will be interesting," I whisper back and she shrugs.
"If you open your books you will see we shall be covering black-eyed children, cursed dolls, Bermuda triangle, scary creatures, and lastly my favorite one the devil who steals beautiful women." He stares at me and I feel uncomfortable.
"I hope this class teaches you, young adults, to respect and believe in the magical world of legends." The Professor dismisses us and I grab my things and walk out.
"So Professor creepypasta is having fun." Susan nudges me and I laugh.
"Who knows maybe we might have fun and go ghost hunting." I wink and we both laugh.
"Hello ladies, what did you guys think of Professor Holden?" Jake walks up with his very attractive friend Miguel.
"Total creep and couldn't stop staring at our little Rose here." Susan hugs her boyfriend.
"who doesn't she's beautiful." Miguel winks at me and Susan and Jake wolf whistle.
"Shut up." I blush and roll my eyes.
"Just to be clear I heard the Professor was really cool and I think we are going to have fun." Jake smiles.
"Yea hunting down the devil." Susan yelps as Jake squeezes her sides.
"Oh well, he does pray on beautiful women." Jake chases Susan as she laughs and pushes him off. They are engaged to be engaged. They have been dating since freshman year of high school and now we are seniors in college just trying to slip through and graduate.
"Technically he looks for the virgins," Miguel adds.
"Well, then we are safe." Susan pinches me and I shake my head and blush.
"We are too. High five!" Jake and Miguel high five and gloat.
"Like the devil would want you two." I roll my eyes.
"Aye, we are pretty hot." Jake and Miguel pose.
"De donde?" I say in Spanish and Miguel rolls his eyes and tells Jake what I said because he speaks Spanish too.
"Well in the story the devil chooses who he wants but they have to be virgins," Miguel says as we walk to the car.
"Yea well whatever. It's a bunch of nonsense and hopefully Professor creepy can just be an easy class." I huff and take out my car keys.
" Well, I'll see you guys later." Jake and Susan walk to their cars.
"Bye. Can I walk you to your car preciousa?" Miguel offers and I smile.
"Lead the way." We walk to my car and he opens my door and I get in and we bid goodbye, and I drive home. Sometimes I wish he wouldn't play games and just finally ask me out but he doesn't. He instead messes with other women and I hate it because it makes me feel like a second choice but I like him too much; I'm willing to wait.
As I get out of the car I feel like I'm being watched but I walk into my house ignoring this strange feeling and the chills that raise my hairs up.
