"What do you guys know about the black-eyed children?" The professor asks the class.
"Aren't they the demon children with pure black eyes?" This guy says and I stare at my book looking at the photos of these creepy little kids.
"Close but they demons. They are just a bunch of evil children who bring death and bad luck to you if you happen to see one. How about we read a story about them. Miss.Rosalia." He stares at me and I smile and look down at my book.
"These black-eyed children are known to walk up to you and will not stare you in the face. While you wonder who they are and where their parents are, they will ask you to come inside your house and no matter what you do; do not let them in. " I look up at him and everyone is quiet and staring at him.
"What do you think of this miss?" He asks me.
"I mean there are stories about children everywhere but how can we believe in something we haven't experienced before?" I ask.
"I love how you always have something opposite to the stories miss Rose." He smirks.
"It's not that I don't agree, its just I'm not a believer in fairy tales."
"What about the pictures and the reports on these children?" Says Annoying Angie and I roll my eyes.
"Anyone can put on fake contacts and behave weird and these reports have been from years ago where there are literally no more files of them and plus back in the day people had nothing to do but smoke and drink so half of these stories were invented just to keep themselves occupied. Like Slenderman he was written on Creepy Pasta and yet kids took it overboard by committing crimes and suicides. All these stories are believed true because people make them real. " I state and the Professor starts clapping and everyone joins.
"Exactly Miss Rosalia has a point there. These stories become real because we keep them real and make them real. That's the whole point of this class. How can we decide what's real and what's not?" Professor Holden is contradicting himself here.
"So Professor you are sitting with Rose meaning you don't believe in your own words?" James asks him and the professor points at him.
"No, but yes," This teacher is weird, "I believe in what is present and what is right in front of me. True I am an Urban legend freak but there are photos and videos of these creatures how can one not believe in them, but since us, humans take what we read so serious and make them into a reality that means these legends are real." He does have point.
"So since we make it real, you are saying these legends are real?" Susan asks really interested in this topic.
"Well Miss, Susan lets say you have an invention and you make the invention; what did you just do?" He raises a brow.
"I made my invention real by making it and actually obtaining it." Susan smiles.
"YES!" He shouts and I just stare at him, "Be careful with what you believe in children because your dream might become a reality. Okay, you guys are dismissed, I want you guys to read and research these children and get a story or a report from a different country or state where they have been sited and bring it in tomorrow. Have a great day!" He grabs his things and walks out and I start packing my stuff.
"So what are we doing tomorrow?" Susan asks me.
"What do you mean?" I giggle
"Well it's Friday and I want to go out." She pokes me and I walk away.
"I don't." I roll my eyes.
"Come on the fall festival is out, let's go." She says but we stop as I see Miguel flirting with this girl.
