Chapter 7 - Shock!

Mauritus was still in shock. She didn't know what to think. All she wanted to do was hide away in her bed.

A love triangle. Two guys liked one girl. What did they see in her? Was it her figure? Her character? Or her beauty? No matter what is was, Mauritus did not see it in herself.

Mauritus herself thought she didn't deserve love, despite the friends telling her the contrary.

She thought that love was simple but it turns out that it's pretty complicated. Love can create relationships, but it can also destroy them.

Who did she like on the inside? She had known Ryder for much longer than Jacob, but Jacob sees her more often. And also he was her best friend's cousin! But there's nothing wrong with liking your best friend's cousin because then it means that you can be related to them! But who was she kidding?!

"Ugh, why me?!" She said angrily, "Out of all of the people in the world, why me?!"

As she sobbed uncontrollably into her pillow, Misty comes into the room.

"Ha! Crybaby. What is it this time? Upset that Mum and Dad love me more than you? Well I'm always going to be better than you."

"Misty, I don't know what I've done to you, but I'm sorry...just leave me alone!"

Conflicting thoughts crossed Misty's mind.

'What has she done to me?'

'NO! I have to carry on being horrid to her. Mum and Dad say she deserves it for looking different. Can't disobey...'

"Whatever loser. Keep on crying!"

Mauritus looked at Misty with blank eyes.

"Your eyes are like dad's. Finally,"

She left the room.

She calls Lyla and...

"Hey, how're you doing?" Lyla said.

"Terrible," She replied, "Absolutely terrible."

"I'm sure it will get better somehow."

"But how can you be sure?"

"It happens to the best of us, and when I mean best, I mean best."

"Thanks but you are making this seem as if it's a blessing. It feels like a curse."

"Well, curses can wear off eventually. Who knows maybe it will end right now. Or maybe in a few years."

"I'm going to talk to Crystal about this and see what she says."

"Okay then. Bai!"

"Cya."

Mauritus called Crystal and she said...

"Lyla's right. It's a blessing. All your life you said that you weren't liked or loved, but now, you are loved more than ever keep that in mind."

Mauritus took heed of their advice and decided to live life. She decided to be free, not trapped. she wanted to be one of those people and aren't afraid and you know what, she did.

But her eyes remained blank.
