"Why are you doing this to us?" Mauritus asked.
"Yeah, why?" Crystal asked.
"Because your bestie Lyla and her family aren't who you think she is." He said.
"Huh?" Mauritus and Crystal said in unison.
ABOUT 1 MONTH EARLIER
"LYLA, CHASE COME DOWNSTAIRS!!! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!!"
As soon as they heard their parents calling for them they rushed downstairs.
"What happened? Is everything okay?" Chase said.
"Well... not really..." Samantha (their mother) said as she cried.
"Why?" Lyla asked.
"Your grandmother was... was... murdered." Shane (their father) said.
Lyla and Chase were surprised.
"But... how?!" Chase asked.
"It was murder. And we know by who."
"Who?!" Lyla asked.
"People from the OL." Samantha said.
"OL? What's that?" Chase asked.
"Obsidian League. A group of ruthless killers who will stop at nothing to get revenge and to kill." Shane said.
"What?! But what do they have to do with us?!" Chase asked.
"Um... well... your mother and I are... former OL members."
"WHAT?! SO YOU GUYS KILLED?!" Lyla shouted angrily.
"We did, and we aren't proud of it." Samantha said.
"Just be careful, okay. We don't want you guys to get hurt because of a mistake we made." Shane said.
"We have two prime suspects. Two people called Alex and Oliver who split from the OL and are about your age." Samantha said.
"So just be careful, they're really dangerous." Shane said.
"Who are they after?"
"We suspect our family. And everyone we love. They know more than you think."
No one could sleep peacefully that night. They knew that there was a danger out there. Somewhere.
