~"Demons in his head, drugs in his veins. Madness in his mind, love in his soul. Storm in his heart."~
Adrien's POV~
I never thought I'd be able to go to school! My father never allowed me to go out, only for photoshoot's and stuff but that is all stupid..
Apparently Natalie says he's doing it cause he cares, and she brings up hoe the world can be cruel and how others will judge me or be mean to me.
But I can take criticism, I know I'm blind, I know I'm not like the other kids but I have to try right?
Plus Paris hasn't seen a akuma attack in a while so I don't have to worry about getting in the middle of a battle.
Classes were ok, I made one friend..maybe two? Wait can I even call Enid a friend?
She's all silent, she doesn't talk a lot..rarely says a word to me or to anyone.
Maybe it's just the first day school jitters or something..
I felt someone tap my hand as I looked over to see a very blurry face, not even blurry, everything was dark, barely could see light or an outline of a face.. "It's lunch." I hear someone mumbled but it wasn't Enid, her touch is softer..kinder.
I nodded, blindly grabbing my things. "Uh..thanks..do you mind guiding me to the cafeteria?"
The person snorts and I hear their footsteps fade. Enid I'm guessing was already gone which wasn't such a surprise. I think she hates me..its not like I said anything wrong..
"I'll take you to the cafeteria dude." I raised a brow as I turned my head to where the voice came from.
"I'm Nino, you must be Adrien right?"
I nodded as I shakily get out of my seat. "Y-yeah, so where is the cafeteria?" I asked as he chuckled, resting a hand on my shoulder as we walked out of the class.
"So..I haven't seen you around, well only in like some magazines and commercial's." He stated breaking the awkward silence between us.
I shrugged my shoulders. "My father had me homeschooled for a long time I guess..I never really went to a school.."
"Aw man..that must be so much cooler than coming here."
I shrugged again as I kept memorizing every turn we took and feeling of the railing and number of steps on the metal stairs.
"I mean it was kinda boring and.." I trailed off as he supposedly got the message I didn't want to talk about home cause he stopped talking.
I hear the sound of doors and loud voices filled my ears. "Here we are the cafeteria. You need to buy some food?"
I shook my head as I felt him squeezed my shoulder, bringing me to an empty table. "Stay here, I gotta go grab some food."
I nodded as I sat down, grabbing my bag and pulling out my lunch. I take in a deep breath, closing my eyes as I focused on the objects in my bag.
Being blind I guess comes with new ways of sensing things. Like my hearing has been more efficient along with sensing things by touch..
It's not easy being blind, it takes a while to memorize everything. In my house I know where everything is, knowing where to walk and stay..since I've been locked up in that house for so long I basically know my way around home.
I raised my head from my lunch as I hear Nino coming back and him slumping in the sway across from me.
"So..you like the school so far?" He asked as he started to scarf down his food.
I shrugged, taking a bite out of my green apple.
"I mean..I guess it's ok.." I replied after swallowing the piece apple I had in my mouth.
"Yeah, I guess..so your a friend of Chloe's?" He asked, as I furrowed my brows. Something about his voice don't seem so nice when he mentioned Chloe's name.
"I-I mean..I guess..we..my parents knew hers so we usually played a lot when we were small and then.." I trailed off as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Why do I feel like Chloe is a bad person here?"
Nino snorted, as I hear the squeak of the chair as he leaned back. "She's a totally witch, she bullies a lot of people here. Likes to turn people against each other, spread rumours.." He exclaiming, going on and on.
I couldn't help but frown. Chloe was never mean to me..
She was always so kind and sweet towards me..
"Oh.." I replied. Basically that's all I could say. I never knew that she could be so cruel..
"Oh.." I hear him say sadly. I hummed, looking up from my sandwich. "What?" I asked as Nino sighed.
"It's nothing. I waved Enid to come over here but she just kinda ran off." He replied awkwardly as I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck.
"I think she hates me."
"Why?"
"She hardly talks to me. Maybe cause I'm blind? I'm not a bad guy right?"
Nino laughed. "No way, if you were a bad guy I wouldn't be hanging with you. She's probably just shy."
I smiled as I nodded slightly. As I went back to eating my sandwich I nearly leaped out of my skin when I hear a loud crash and then laugher filled the whole cafeteria.
"W-what's going on?" I asked through the laughter and the sound of camera clicks.
I could hear the anger and sadness in his voice. "It's nothing, just someone who missed the garbage can."
I raised a brow, knowing something was off. "No seriously what happened Nino?" I asked as I turned my head to the loud sound of the where the laugher was coming from.
Nino huffed, grabbing my hand and tapped it, grabbing my attention. "It doesn't matter, come on, I'll show you around."
I worked down a swallow, but nodded as I gathered up my things and followed him out of the cafeteria.
I wonder why people would laugh at something like that?
