Summer's pov

When I woke up, everything was quiet and as I looked around I saw Chris was watching me. I felt a rock fall from my heart, he was unharmed! "Why are you still awake? Even you need some rest", I said while smiling. "I wanted to make sure that we are safe. How do you feel?" "My shoulder still hurts, but it's getting better. And you? I haven't seen you all day." "Well, the killer knocked me out, so that's why nobody saw me around." "Oh no, but you do seem fine now. Why did he not hook you?" Somehow I couldn't believe him, like he didn't even have a scratch and the medkits can't fully heal you. But why would he lie to me? I felt bad for not believing him but I guess that this whole situation has a bad effect on him.

Shapeshifter's pov

I was starting to get nervous when I could see the disbelief in Summer's amber colored eyes. But she stopped questioning me and snuggled up against me, which confused me at first but I then layed my arms around her. This felt weird but also kind of nice. After all this time that I've been here everyone was afraid of me and hated me, so it was nice to feel some tenderness. I could see why Chris loved her so much. When we were little he always told me about this sweet little girl he was playing with.

Flashback

"Hey, Conner!", Chris greeted me happily. "Hey, cousin! What are you so happy about?" "I met the girl again! She is so sweet and beautiful and we're always having loads of fun together! Yesterday we went to the beach and we build a sandcastle which she decorated with shells. And she brought stranded jellyfishes back into the water to save them." Chris looked so happy and dreamy while telling me his adventures with his friend Summer. " Seems like she is the perfect girl. I can already hear the wedding bells ring!" Hearing me say that, he started to blush and tried to hide it by looking away. That made me burst out in laughter. "Stop laughing at me! I'm not going to marry anyone! A wedding is for dreamers!" "And your not a dreamer?" "No! And now let's stop talking about this. It's time to play some football." "Hey, you started it."

End of flashback

"What's wrong?", Summer's voice brought me back to reality. "Nothing, I was just lost in thought." "What were you thinking about?" "Some old memories, something to distract me from this." "That's understandable. All those years I thought that nothing could be worse than physics class and well, I was wrong", she gave me a weak smile but I knew that she was scared and frustrated. After a few minutes passed, Summer was sound asleep in my arms. I could easily kill everyone and yet I don't. What's going on with me?

Summer's pov

"Ok, there are three more generators left, one of them half way done. Greg and I will go for that one because we know where it is", Elizabeth did the tactical thinking again. "*Sigh* So, Chris and I will go and try to find the other two. Do you have an idea where they are?", I asked. "I think I saw one that way", Greg said while pointing at a direction. "Ok, thanks. Be careful and good luck." "Good luck you two." I hugged Elizabeth and Greg thinking it might be the last time, before Chris and I started to search for a gen. "You haven't talked a lot today, are you ok?", I asked him. "I'm just a little worn out, that's it." As I raised my eyebrow he stopped walking and hugged me. "Do you love me?", he asked. "Of course I do! You should know that by now. And no matter what happens, I will always be there for you!" "Thank you, I'm also there for you." "I know."

When we found a generator somebody was already working on it, but it wasn't one of us. "Who are you?" The guy jumped at the sound of my voice nearly messing the gen up. "I could ask you the same thing", he said. "My name is Summer and this Chris", I introduced us. "Summer? Was Spring already taken?" He laughed at his own joke. I gave an annoyed look and said: "Very funny. Could you answer our question now?" "Sorry, I'm Dan. Are you two alone in here?" "No, we're four people", Chris told. "We're three. I wonder why we are two groups at once."

Shapeshifter's pov

"Good question." That was weird! There are never more than four people in one game. So why did the Entity lead three more guys to my forest? This is your last game, so I thought I would spice it up a little, he said in my head. "Can you help me with with gen? We're faster if we work together." "Sure. I really want to get out of here as soon as possible." Dan and Summer started to work on the generator while I still haven't left my spot. "Chris? Aren't you going to help is?", she asked. "I think it's better if I look out for the killer." "Fine, do whatever you think is best." Truth is, I can't work on gens. As a killer that would be stupid because I have to keep them from leaving, but now I don't want to give away my identity. After it was finished, Dan suddenly blinded me with his flashlight forcing me to turn into my normal self." No!", I screamed. "I knew there was something off about him!" When I could see again I saw Summer's shocked expression. "This can't be true!", she mumbled before Dan grabbed her wrist and took off.
