Summer's pov

I couldn't believe it! All this time I thought that Chris would be with me but it was actually the monster who chased us. But... he was so sweet to me. Tears ran down my face as Dan and I were running away, the Shapeshifter close by. "Ahh!" The killer threw his knife at Dan making him fall to the ground. "Dan!" I stopped and wanted to help him but I was scared and he came closer, so I said sorry and took off. "Summer, wait!", I heard him scream. So he left Dan alone, which is good for him but bad for me. I suddenly stopped running and turned around to face him. "Why? What do you want from me?" He had a pained expression and thought about what to say. "I honestly don't know. I'm normally a heartless monster, except when I'm with you. I feel... human when I'm near you." "You lied to me! Pretended to be my boyfriend! What did you do Chris?", I screamed at him while crying. Silence. "No!" "Summer, I... I had to kill him." "No! You're lying!" I fell to the ground burying my face in my legs. I didn't care if he would kill me, I just wanted to let my feelings out. He was just standing there for a while before he walked away. I could hear two generators go off in the distance but that didn't matter anymore. Why? Why did he do this? Why him and not me? He had so many opportunities to kill any of us, so why Chris? Someone called my name but I didn't respond or look up until I felt someone hugging me from behind. "I know what happened, sweetheart. I'm so sorry! We all loved him", Elizabeth said. I looked up and returned her hug. "He was always there for me and when he needed me the most, I couldn't protect him! This is all my fault!" "That's not true! None of this is your fault. You could have never won against a serial killer....I'm just happy that he didn't kill you too." "I wish he would have killed me and not him!" "Don't say that! I would never want to loose my bestie!" After I've calmed down I said: "Thank you for being there for me. We have to go and help Dan." "No, he's fine. His friends helped him, they should be close to finishing the last generator. Let's go find one of the exits."
After what felt like ages we finally managed to find a door, but as I tried to pull the lever it didn't work. "What the hell? I can't move it!" "Let me try!", Elizabeth said as she took a step forward. But she also failed. Dan and one of his friends arrived and they had the same confused expression as we did. "Don't tell me both doors don't work!" "Well, if you failed opening the other one then yes, both do not work." "Maybe it's because we are more people", I thought out loud. "That could be it! In the letter it said that we need to do five generators when we were four people and now we are seven, so I guess we need to do eight", Els said.
Elizabeth went to find Greg and the new girl Cassy, while Dan, Max and I were working the last three gens. When we were done with the first one Max suddenly grabbed me and threw the against it. "Max, what are you doing?", Dan screamed. "He clearly wants her! He might leave us alone if he gets her!" "He might? Your getting her killed for a might?" I could hear his dismay in his voice but both of them ran away when they heard footsteps. Dan quickly saying sorry to me was the last thing I recognized before I lost my consciousness.
