Chapter 6.

A few months had already gone. The cabinet Draco needed to fix for his quest was being repaired quickly and I had convinced my dad to give Draco some more time. After all, he is in school and still had to do the school work one way or another.

"You're not falling for this boy, are you?" he asked as he ran his long bony fingers across the back of my neck.

"No," I lied.

"Don't lie. You let your guard down when you are lying and I saw through it all. I am powerful and I know what it takes to make your walls come down. I am your father, you can tell me about anything."

"No I can't. Last time I did you tried to recruit him as a Death Eater and when he wouldn't you killed him," I responded, trying to stay calm.

"That was different. Draco is already a Death Eater, so nothing will happen to him," he said.

"How do I know that's true? Can you promise me and swear on your life that nothing will happen to him?" I questioned.

"Yes. I can."

"Fine, I really, really like Draco. He is really nice and kind and caring towards me, but no one else. And he is really good at everything. And each morning he has given me 100 roses, which seems dumb, but I think it is really sweet and he always is such a gentleman," I said truthfully.

"Good. If he treats you badly, you know where to find me. No one hurts my daughter and gets away with it," he said forcefully.

"Cool, well, I have to get back to school before Snape is breathing down my neck. Um, Father? Is it okay if I maybe, you know, have a relationship with Draco?" I asked hesitantly.

I hoped to Merlin that he would say yes.

"Really, Ember, I thought you were much brighter than that. I want you and Draco to have a relationship. Why do you think I put you in the same room together and made you share everything?" he said.

"I was just making sure. Bye." I stepped into the fireplace and took a handful of floo powder. "Snape's office."

I landed lightly in Snape's fireplace and got out brushing off the excess powder.

"Good, you are just in time for my class. Sit down, Miss Riddle," he bossed me.

"Great, I hate Defense Against the Dark Arts. Why do I have to do it? Plus, you are better at teaching Potions, according to everyone. Slughorn is useless, he doesn't know anything. He's as daft as a blonde headed bimbo--or Pansy," I complained.

"Because everyone has to take it. Just because you are his daughter doesn't mean that you get special treatment."

I sat down in my seat and took out my books, waiting for everyone to arrive. Finally hoards of students came in. Draco took his usual seat beside me. I turned to look him straight in the eyes. His stormy grey eyes met my red eyes.

"Draco Lucius Malfoy, I really like you and I was hoping that you would take me on a date," I said confidently.

"What? But you said . . . but . . . what?" he mumbled.

"Draco, I have liked you the whole time, but I didn't want you to get hurt. And, well, I have just been with my father and we were talking, and he knows how to break down my mind walls, and because I lied to him, my walls came crumbling down. He saw that I liked you and was completely fine with it, saying that he wanted us together in the first place, that's why he put us in the same room," I quickly explained before the lesson starts.

"Miss Nile, is there something more important than listening to me?" Snape asked monotonously.

"Actually, yes, I will not, however, let you trick me into telling the class what it is. Just remember, my father hears about everything," I warned.

He got the message and his face looked distraught for a second before returning to his bored, couldn't-give-a-damn look.

He started to speak again while I went into Draco's mind and shared a few thoughts with him.

Draco: You're in my mind, right?

Me: Yep.

Draco: I like you too. I have since I first laid eyes on you. And even though it took you, like, two months before you said anything to me about it. I don't care because you have said something about it now. I have been waiting to take you on a date forever. But now since we are together, we need a few rules. No sleeping with anyone else. And when Pansy is around, we will act extra lovey-dovey to piss her off. Is that fine?

Me: Sure, but I would never cheat. I have been in a relationship before. You don't need to be so possessive. I will oblige to all of them though. So, where are you going to take me? When are you going to take me?

Draco: Hogsmeade, 11:30, The Three Broomsticks. Sunday.

Me: I can't wait, and as soon as we come out if this class, I am going to give you a kiss for me not giving you one three months ago when you asked.

Draco: You could just give me one now.

Me: No, I can't. We are in class. We will get told off.

Draco: I don't care and neither do you.

Me: True.

I left his mind, and as I was still turned to face him, he was still staring into my eyes. I planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"Mr Malfoy, Miss Nile. Detention, my office, tonight after dinner." Snape smirked and continued on teaching the class.

"Great," I muttered. I was going to do some work on the cabinet with Draco, but now I can't.
