Clementine was desperate.
The person who looked after her, kept her safe, didn't seem like he was doing good. She knew it, he was already dead on his feet when he came into the Marsh House, all because she had been dumb enough to believe that man had her parents.
She felt fear, not of him, but of the things surrounding them. As she looked at him, she felt confused and clueless of what to do next.
His face, tinted a dreadful green, his skin taught and stretched. His normally, bright, cheerful eyes were sad and devoid of any joy, as he look over to her.
"Lee!" She gasped, her own eyes wide with fat tears falling down her pale cheeks, parting a way through the dark red blood he had put there, so the walkers wouldn't notice them as they walked through the crowded streets of Savannah.
Her eyes frantically scanned over him, noticing his sluggish movements. Her small hands, covered in murky brown blood, grasped at his and she tried, unsuccessfully, to drag his deadweight.
"Come on!" She yipped, her pale skin contrasting against the dreary brackish red covering her, once white, dress.
They both heard the growls around them, as the walkers became more and more unsettled at their undead acts.
Clementine became scared, her confusion knowing no end, as she continued to pull at her guardian's arm.
Suddenly, she stopped. Her breathing picked up, until it escalated to hyperventilating. Her eyes widening as they went to two walkers. Two walkers, unaware of their once, daughter's stares, stumbled near her, growling. Faces gray and sucked of life.
Lee turned towards her, following her gaze. He sucked in a breath, reaching a hand towards her.
"Clem, don't..." Lee trailed off.
More tears rushed to the small girl's eyes, and then, the worst possible thing happened. Lee stumbled, his eyes rolled into the back of his head.
"No!" Clementine yelled, momentarily forgetting the situation they were in. She grabbed desperately at Lee's shirt, crouching down next to his body.
Getting no response, she began to whimper. Her eyes darted about, until they landed on a jewellery store with a small opening, away from the walkers.
"Small e-enough for us" She whispered, pulling Lee with her as she struggled with both of their weight.
She slowly dragged him to the shop's opening, she stopped, panting, and ceased her hold on Lee's shirt and crawled underneath. Once making sure it was safe from walkers, Clem got down on her knees and tugged at Lee's shirt, grabbing and pulling him underneath towards her.
She pulled him over towards the middle of the room, Lee's head resting upon a dirty red carpet. She pulled the shops heavy opening door down, so no walkers could get in, and sat infront of Lee's limp, unresponsive body and allowed her tears to fall again.
"Lee... don't leave m-me, please!" Clem sobbed.
After sitting for what seemed like hours, Lee started to groan, and move.
She trembled, voice shaking as she approached him, she took his tattered shirt into her dainty hands and shook him.
"Lee, wake up! Please don't be dead, please no." She said in a whimper, clutching onto him.
She noted that his eyes had opened, she continued in her high shaky voice. "Lee! I was so scared... I-- I thought you left me... I... I..."
"I saw my parents." Clementine painfully whimpered to him, her hands resting in a vice grip upon his shirt.
