My body jerked me awake. "Tpph," I coughed and licked my lips. My right eye had crusted over in sleep goop. "Uugh, fuckin' nasty dude." I lifted my arm to flake the crap off. The mechanical arm was no where to be seen and I felt like superman.
"Chip?" I croaked, sounding like an 80 year old smoker.
"Yes?"
"Report." I sat up and flung my legs over my pallet.
"Location: Planet Perk of Sector 38 LL 7. Current state: Average. Repairs needed in the cockpit, right wing engine, and tail."
"Route to escape."
"I can't put one together. Something's blocking all of my long range sensors." Chip ended shortly.
"What? Those sensors were expensive as hell! Why the fuck...Okay, where are you? If you need repairs I want to get them done now so we can leave ASAP." I huffed and stood up. The black fabric of my jeans absorbed the light dirt that swam in the air. The colour was similar to my orangey t-shirt.
"I'll send my location to you." My ear piece clicked in response.
"Great. I'm on my way." I confirmed, tying my boots and throwing on my jacket. The zippers softly rattled as I moved the curtains aside. I touched my ear piece, releasing a small screen on the right side of my face. The map aligned with my vision and I was on my way.
Kismet~
"Kis, wake up. Kis! Kis please, wake up!"
I sat up and screeched. "Get out of my head!!" I started hitting my head to get the voices out. "Out! Out! OUT!" My breathing was uneven, patchy. I began to sob. "I just want to feel normal. I can't take this anymore! What do you want!?" I screamed again. I heaved, clutching my stomach.
"Kis." The voice said again.
"What?!" I swung my fist at the voice but made no contact.
"Please, just listen to me. This is taking too long. You're going to run out of time. Listen."
"If I listen will you leave me alone?!" I coughed, saliva spilling out of my mouth and tears streaking my face.
"Yes. I promise. I promise I'll leave you alone." The voice said softly.
"..Okay..What?" I whipped my face off and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders. "What do you want?"
"Do you remember anything about your crash?"
I thought for a moment. "No..not really. All I remember is being carried away from my ship."
"Alright. Do you remember your ship?"
"I...No. I can't remember anything." I answered, my voice small.
"I see. Kis," The voice sighed, "do you recognize my voice? Does it remind you of anyone?"
I closed my eyes and tried to picture a face. "I don't know..it's hard to see."
"Then open your eyes."
I looked up and pushed my body to the wall behind me. "Who..why...how did you get in here?!" The figure approached me, "No! Stay back! Who are you?!"
"Kis-"
I interrupted him. "Stop talking to me like we're friends! I've never met you. I don't know who you are. I don't know your voice. What do you want?"
He sighed. "I was sure your memory would clear up once you saw my face. Kismet it's me. It's me, Logan. Please, please try to remember me." Logan sat on the corner of my bed. I took a deep breath in and relaxed my muscles. "That's it, just calm down. We can talk about it."
