Once Upon A Memory

Chapter one : The meeting

     My best friend Kaitlin and I were walking the three floor mall when suddenly someone was literally running at us. I had no idea who it was so I quickly moved to the side to let them pass, but soon enough Kaitlin was running into their open arms.

      "ALEX!" She was yelling as she flung herself into his waiting arms.

     "Kaitlin, I've missed you SO much!" he said in excitement as he hugged and spun her around in a circle, well at least I think it was a circle. I awkwardly stood there adjusting my bag on my shoulder.

     "Alex, this is my friend Erica, she's my best friend in the whole wide world!" she said proudly, and grabbed my arm to pull me over after their dramatic reunion.

     "Nice to meet you Erica, I'm Alex. I'm Kaitlin's other best friend in the whole wide world!" he said and flashed a beaming smile. Alex was tall, well taller than me anyways, and he has the most gorgeous hazel eyes that I have ever seen. His hair was long and dark and all over the place kinda like a mop, but it looked so perfect on him. My heart was skipping, and my voice was caught in my throat. I had no idea what to say so I just smiled and did a little awkward wave.

     "Come on guys, let's go to the Apple store and take funny pictures!" Kaitlin said as she grabbed each of us by the hand and started pulling us down the walkway.

     When we got to the store we ran into more of Kaitlin's friends. She was a very popular person, and well me not so much. Anyways, we all had a lot of fun, and ended up spending most of our day in the book store. Me being the nerd that I am was literally in heaven, and it was awesome that her friends were into books too, of course not the same books, but books nonetheless.

     "Hey Erica, look at this one," her friend Wabu said as he handed me yet another book. I just laughed out loud. It was a book of sex positions. It made me laugh, because of what this guy looked like. He was short, shorter than me, and that's pretty short. He had LONG black hair that he keeps under a beenie hat, he wore skinny jeans so tight that they must be in a kids size, and a band tee shirt although I forget the name of the band, probably something like Asking Alexandria; I'm pretty sure it's one of his favorites. Anyways, this guy was just tiny and he was SO obsessed with looking at books like that. Honestly, I think that he did it on purpose to make me laugh since I was so quite the entire time that we were hanging out, except for the occasional time I would talk to Kaitlin and we'd leave to go get refills on our slushies.

     The first time that Kaitlin and I went to get refills Alex asked if he could come with us, and after Kaitlin saw the look on my face she said "Of course you can!" I was so nervous that I almost dropped my cup...twice!

     Anyways back to Wabu. He held his stomach from laughing so hard at the look upon my face.

     "You're so innocent that it's funny!" and earlier he was the one who said that he was still a virgin, which I am too, but how does that make him any less innocent that I am? I just let it go. I rolled my eyes at him and handed him back the book while I shook my head at him. "I can't stop laughing!" he cried out. I think that he had too much sugar, and was finally coming down from the rush.

     My phone began to ring so I pulled it out.

      "Hello?" I asked into it.

     "Hey honey, I'm waiting outside the bookstore for you like you asked me to meet you," my mom spoke through the receiver.

     "I'll be right out mom, just give me a minute. Love you!" I said and hung up before I said goodbye to my newly made friends.

     The whole way home all that I could think about was Alex and how cute he was, and how he was the first boy to ever make me at a loss for words.
