Emma's POV

After walking for almost an hour and doing absolutely nothing, I got hungry.

I only brought like thirty dollars with me, which should be enough to get something to eat.

I walked for a couple of minutes until I found a little burger shack.
I walked in and it was more than half empty. Lucky for me There was a Short line. There weren't many options in the menu but it'll do. If I don't eat now I'll start trembling.

I always got nervous ordering but it was one of my fears that i had to overcome eventually.

When it was my turn in line i quickly mumbled my order and I heard the cashier say
"Repeat your order louder and slower please"

I could hear the annoyance in his voice. I felt my ears get warm and my cheeks flare up.

I repeated my order and looked up at him.
I noticed he had a dermal on his right cheek bone and his bottom lip was fuller than his top lip. Which, I admit , was kind of cute.

I snapped back to reality when I heard him murmur something under his breath which sounded like "I do not get paid enough to do this shit"
As I was paying i could feel his gaze on me for a moment and I could have sworn I saw a small smile spread across his lips. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

After finishing my meal I walked out of the little hell hole pondering on what i should do next.

There wasn't much to do so I kept walking around downtown Dallas and walked into a few stores here and there. I couldn't buy anything, I didn't have enough money and everything was fucking expensive.

As the sun started setting, my legs grew more tired with every step i took so i decided to take the bus home.

I waited at the stop until the bus came.

Once I was on it was full of people who smelled like cigarette smoke. Which brought back some painful memories that I'd rather not think about.

I tried holding my breath but it was no use. The smell got to me one way or another so I just breathed it all in until I got to my stop.
