"Why did we find your fingerprints all over every single murder weapon then?" a voice snapped back at Jungkook, fracturing him out of his whirl-wind like mind.
The glassy-eyed boy looked up at the two men in front of him. Han and Lee, the best interrogators in the whole of South Korea. Both were in their late-20s, Han having black hair swept upwards whereas Lee had bleach white hair which branched over his forehead.
"Han... Lee, I'm a detective, even if I were to kill someone, wouldn't you think that I would have at least covered up my fingerprints? I'm clearly being framed." he squealed as he struggled with the cold steel handcuffs locked around his wrists like bear traps.
"Maybe you were lazy? Weren't thinking straight. Besides, your fingerprints aren't the only evidence against you. We found that 10 million won with the note in your apartment as well as letters and emails between you, Sara, Jolie and Ania." shot back. "Also, we have three witnesses saying that you weren't where you claimed to be after all." he added on.
He broke the contact between the ying and yang-like men in front of him, dropping his head down as the slither of hope in his mind started to become smaller and smaller.
Everything that they had found all pointed towards him. Everything that Jungkook had been trying to say back as his defence was only thrown back at him with snarling teeth, digging and tearing deeper at his wounds.
"So... we come back to our first question... why did you kill them?" Lee asked.
"I didn't kill anyone. Besides, Viola died of heart failure--" he started to say before his words were sliced in half by Han's knife-like words.
"Heart failure caused by a poison put into her drip. A poison you got supplied by someone called 741125285102. Look... you're just digging yourself into a deeper pit. Confess and perhaps you'll get a shorter sentence. Keep putting up this act and you'll never see this job or your little foreigner fiance again." Han provoked right before an explosion of sound echoed around the room.
Fist clenched as it laid red against the now slightly dented table.
"I didn't kill anyone." he whispered.
"Wow... I never thought I would see this Jungkook again. Is that why you killed them all? Cause looking at your emails... it seems as if you got into a disagreement with... well all of them. So... what? When you got to the end of your tether you just decided to murder them in cold blood and put Jolie on a pole as if she were a fucking kebab." he jeered as he burnt through Jungkook's withering tether.
"Han shut the fuck up... you're not helping. Look... Jungkook, I really want to believe that you didn't kill these girls... but unless you find out who the killer is and make them confess... you're looking at life imprisonment." Lee sighed softly at him.
He was in chains because of her.
He was going to lose everything because of her.
He was losing his freedom because of her.
He was going to die in prison because of her.
Yet, even though he had the opportunity to get out of this mess that had unfolded around him, he chose not to say anything. He chose to give up fighting a battle he couldn't win.
Because after all, he did it for her.
