Beth’s Point of View

I was defiantly going to miss New York.  I would miss my crazy ass friends, I would miss the tall beautiful New York Skyline, I would miss my house most importantly I would miss the family we are leaving behind.

It was hard saying goodbye to my grandparents, I would always see my grandparents they just lived a few blocks away and I would jog to their house every Saturday.  That is one thing I will miss.  After out goodbyes to all our family we headed to JFK, which is our city airport.

I didn’t really want to move but it’s my mum and dads job and well… they need it so.  I’m dreading the flight, I don’t even know how long it will take to get to Leeds International airport but I know it will take FOREVER! And I will also have my little brother chirping in my ear for the whole damn flight, good thing I have earphones!

We obviously had to leave our furniture behind but the house we have bought comes fully furnished so we don’t need to worry about that.  I was looking forward to seeing my new house though, my Dad shows me pictures all the time and it does look rather spectacular.  There are 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges or living rooms whatever you British people call it, 5 bathrooms, a huge kitchen with a dining room attached, a massive back yard and a cute front lawn.  But my favourite part it, on the upstairs landing there is a balcony that overlooks the entire living room, how cool it that? To me that’s pretty damn cool.

The car journey to the airport was only half an hour, I sat playing games on my iPad and just listened to the music on the radio.  Iggy Azalea and Charli xcx’ song ‘Fancy’ came blaring through the speakers in the cab; have to say I love this song!

“First thing's first, I'm the realest

Drop this and let the whole world feel it, let them feel it

And I'm still in the Murda Bizness

I could hold you down, like I'm givin' lessons in physics. Right, right

You should want a bad bitch like this

Drop it low and pick it up just like this, yeah” I sang, well rapped at the top of my voice, forgetting I wasn’t in my room.  The cab driver and my mum and dad turn around to look at me and then laughter ignites the cab.

We finally arrived at the airport after my embarrassing moment singing Fancy, the cab driver lifts all our heavy bags out of the trunk of the car and places them on the side walk, we all thank him and my dad gives him a tip of $15.

“Alright guys, let’s go check in shall we” my Dad says excitedly as the cab driver pulls away out of site.  We walk into the airport and it wasn’t busy at all, there was no queue at the American Airlines desk which was pretty good.

After we checked in we when through the crazy airport security.  My Dad went first, getting all 5 fingers of his right hand scanned then his retina, then my mum went through it, then I did.  My brother was too young to get it done so he just got his passport checked will the dude behind the desk checked ours too.  We got through to the next part of security where you put all your hand luggage and shit.  So I took my jacket and shoes off, took my iPad, phone and iPod out placing them in the tray, then walked through the beeper thing, I didn’t beep, mentally patting myself on the back for not wearing a belt and the rest of my family came through, no beeps! Well… that’s a first.

Hours when by waiting on our flight, we finally found out our gate number and headed to gate number 57.  We only have to wait another 20 minutes before wec could board our flight.

20 minutes passed and the gates where open, me and my family walked through the tube thing and found our seats, of course we were at the very end of the aircraft.  I sat patiently in my seat waiting for everyone else to get seated then the pilot started speaking about the departure time and crap like that.  Before I knew I was a sleep on my little brothers’ shoulder.  Aint I cute.
