Anne woke up the next day still feeling a bit bad but she still wanted to go to school. She got dressed and did her braids and followed the aroma down the stairs and ate breakfast. She went to school with Diana and she decided to tell her what happened as Diana was worried about her bosom friend.
She went into school nervously and saw Gilbert look at her not smiling then away again. She had to hold back the tears and at break she wanted to ask if they could be friends.
-BREAK-
Anne went outside and saw Gilbert going over to his friends. She sighed and thought: You can do this. She went over to him and tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around and looked down at Anne "Gilbert um.. Can i talk to you?" She asked looking up at him a bit scared because he looked angry.
He looked back at his friends being stupid and then looked back at Anne "Fine.." He said and they walked to somewhere more away from everyone "I'm sorry about yesterday I don't hate you it's just.." She paused "Just?.." He said looking at her confused "Can we just be friends?.. Or you can hate me for the rest of your life but just know that I am sorry.." She said. He stared at her for a minute "I guess we can be.. friends" He smiled "Really? Oh thanks!" She smiled and then the bell rang for the end of break.
Gilbert was kind of sad that Anne probably didn't like him the other way but he thought that it could soon happen..
