We boarded the plane, and I just blocked out everything. I put on a Shawn playlist, knowing that his songs would help ease the pain of leaving my life behind.
*5 hours later*
Mom, Jack and I left the plane after grabbing our carry-ons from the overhead storage. We walked up to the tunnel and into the airport to collect our bags. After that, we walked out and climbed into our Uber to drive to our house. We soon pulled up, and I couldn't quite believe my eyes. We were in a small neighbourhood, in a town called Pickering. The house in front of me was huge. I stood outside with my mouth agape, before my mom walked past me, and said "are you coming in or are you just going to stand there," before laughing a little. I smiled at her and followed her in to find all our furniture had already been delivered.
"Amber, your room is first on the right upstairs, and Jack yours is second." Mom said, before Jack and I grinned at each other and raced up the stairs. Mom rolled her eyes and yelled "15 and 16 and you two are still the biggest kids I know," before laughing to herself.
"You know it!" I yelled back as Jack and I reached the top of the stairs. I walked through the white door into my beautiful new room. I stood in awe and looked around the grey room.

"It's beautiful," I whispered to myself, before starting to unpack.
I was almost finished before mom called up the stairs. I had just heard the doorbell ring.
"Amber, Jack! Our neighbours are here!"
"Coming!" Me and Jack yelled simultaneously. I stood up and quickly jogged down the stairs. I looked up to see someone I never thought I would.
Shawn Mendes.
I pretended not to know who he was, even thought inside I was having a major freak out moment.
"Uh, hey!" I said.
"Hey! I'm Shawn." He said, pulling me in for a hug.
"I'm Amber," I said. "Can I get you a drink or anything?" I asked as he let go of me.
"Um, just a glass of water please." He said before following me into the kitchen. I poured a glass of water for each of us and sat down at the island.
"So, what do you do in you free time then?" He asked, smiling at me.
"I like to play basketball, and I quite like singing too." I said, smiling back at him.
"Really? Me too!" He said with excitement in his voice.
"No shit, Sherlock!" I whispered under my breath while giggling.
"Oh, so you've heard of me then?" He said while smirking.
"Uh, yah!" I replied in a sassy tone. He laughed and we sat in silence for a minute or two, but it wasn't awkward. I couldn't stop staring at him, but he didn't stop looking at me either. My knee was touching his under the counter, and we were just enjoying each other's company until my mom ruined the moment.
"Oh hey, Amber! Shawn, is it?" My mom said.
"Yeah, nice to meet you, Ms..." Shawn trailed off.
"Woods, but you can call me Rebekah." She said while smiling at the two of us. She finally left the room after getting drinks for Shawn's parents, his sister, Aaliyah, Jack, and herself.
"Do you want to go to my room? I have a guitar and we could maybe sing something?" I asked, and he had already gone before I could say anything else. "I'll take that as a yes then?" I called out to him whilst laughing. I followed him upstairs and showed him to my room. I handed him the guitar and he sat down on my bed.
A/N I know this song wasn't out when he was that age but it the one I want to use ahah, no hate please x
"Why don't we sing 'Never Be Alone'" he asked me.
"What, like, the one that you sing?" I asked.
"Nooooo, not that one!" He said and I laughed.
"Cocky much" I said while giggling.
"Heyyy, that's rude!" He said, frowning at me.
"I'm only joking! I love that song!" I said, smiling. He looked at me and smiled before starting to strum the chords on my guitar.
"I promise that one day I'll be around, I'll keep you safe, I'll keep you sound" he sang perfectly.
"Right now it's prettycrazy, And I don't know how to stop, Or slow it down" I sang back to him.
"Hey, I know there are some things we need to talk about, And I can't stay, Just let me hold you for a little long now" we both sang, looking directly at each other.
"Take a piece of my heart, And make it all your own, So when we are apart, You'll never be alone, You'll never be alone" we sang to each other, harmonising perfectly.
"You'll never be alone" I sang
He looked at me in awe. "You have the voice of an angel." He said, and I blushed.
"I could say the same to you" I said while laughing. I sat down on the bed, and we found ourselves just staring at each other for a little while longer.
"Hey... do you think I could... maybe, get your number?" He asked while looking down.
"Sure!" I said, and he looked up at me before we swapped phones.
He handed mine back to me, and I handed him his. Soon after, the Mendes' left, and I hopped in the shower as it was getting kinda late. I found myself singing 'Never Be Alone' in the shower, and smiling while each word came out my mouth.
I got out the shower, and pulled on some grey sweats and a dark blue hoodie. I brushed my teeth and hair, and jumped into bed. I picked up my phone to find a text from Shawn. I smiled to myself when I saw his name.
From: Shawn❤️ Really enjoyed meeting u today, maybe we can hang out again some time? :) x
To: Shawn❤️ I enjoyed meeting u too, n yeah defo, I would love that :) x
From: Shawn❤️ Wait look out ur window real quick x

I got up from my bed and peeled round my curtain to see Shawn also at his window. He smiled when he saw me and waved. He put a sheet of paper to the window saying 'Hey' so I walked over to my desk and found a sheet of paper. On it I wrote 'So we're doing this then? ;)' and held it up to the window. He soon held up another one saying 'Look at your phone'

Shawn and I chatted for a couple of hours before I fell asleep.
I hope you enjoyed the second chapter of this story. This is the second time I tried to write this but I recently just had a completely different idea for the storyline and I think this one will be a lot better
