The next day it was raining so we were running in the gym. Half way through it I stopped. My anxiety was kicking in. It was hard to breathe. I out my hands on my knees trying to level my breathing. Sky stopped beside me and put his hand on my back asked if I was okay. The captain helped me sit down and asked me what happened."My half-sister is staying with us and she isn't the nicest. My anxiety is through the roof because of it," I mumbled. "When is she coming," the captain asked. "Tonight," I replied. "Ah so that means you can't make practice," he asked. I nodded. "Well don't push it today. Go shower," he said.

Time Skip

I was being forced to do every heavy lifting with Kolivan there to help. My mom kissed Kolivan in front of me causing me to crinkle my nose. After I was finished I went to do homework. I tried calling Lance but he didn't answer causing me to whimper. I got up and put on his jacket and smelled it. It was then I noticed I was crying. I shut my door and locked it. I heard my phone ring and noticed it was Lance.

Me- H-hello *sniffles*

Lance- Hey, Keith are you alright? You sound like you're crying.  (He sounded worried and it made me feel bad)

Me- I...I yeah I-I am. *sniffles*

Lance-Don't try and lie to me Keith...I'm coming over

Me- You d-don't have t-to *sniffles*

Lance- I've made up my mind. I'm already on my way.

Me- B-but y-you have s-school t-tomorrow. *sniffles*

Lance- I know, but you're more important than a piece of homework I can turn in late. You're not changing my mind, Keith.

Me- O-okay. P-please hurry. *about to cry even more*

Lance- I'm going as fast as I can, don't worry I'll be there soon ok? Just keep talking to me, okay?

Me-   O-okay *chokes on a sob*

Lance-Hey, come on. Remember that time Pidge tried to drink a whole icee in one sip and got brain freeze.

Me- N-no.

Lance- Come on, her face turned up really funny and she had her thumb on the roof of her mouth. We were all celebrating Shiro's graduation, remember?

I had never bee more confused as I tried to remember the event.

Me-  k-kind o-of, b-but n-not m-much

Lance- Hey  Keith, do you miss me?

Keith- Y-yes. *mumbles sadly*

Lance- Then why haven't you opened your bedroom door.

I immediately drop my phone and run to my door. I hug Lance and sob into his shoulder. Lance picked me up and carried me back to my bed.

"Hey, you're wearing my jacket,"  He said. "It makes me feel safe," I managed to get through a sob.  He started rubbing my back and shushing me gently until I ended up falling asleep.

The next morning

I stirred when my alarm went off. I lifted my head from  Lance's chest. I groggily sat up. I honestly felt terrible, but I still had to go especially to school and dance practice. Tomorrow was Marmora's first competition. I grabbed my clean dance uniform and managed to get to the bathroom to change. I came back and saw Lance still there. I took my medicine. I packed my bag and rubbed my still red eyes. "You don't need to go to school," He said. "I have to. It's our last practice before our first competition tomorrow. Even though I'd rather stay home right now," I replied. "You can go to afternoon practice, hell go to school late if you want. But you're not going to school now," He said confidently. I look at the ground. "Look I'll even drive you there, you're mom can write a sick note. Please just don't push yourself," Lance pleaded. "I-," I started but there was a bang on my door. "YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT SKIPPING YOU'LL NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT," my sister shouted causing me to flinch badly. I felt tears form in my eyes and I whimpered out of fear.

"Grab your bags," Lance said sighing. I grabbed my bags with shaky hands and went to grab my varsity jacket after putting my books away. He took the bags from me and led me down to my car,  making it known through the house that we were leaving with the sound of his loud footsteps. He put my bags in the back where his bags were and he opened the passenger door for me. Then get he got in the driver's seat. When we get to my school instead of dropping me off he gets out and heads towards the door. I quickly get out and grab my stuff and running after him. "L-Lance what are you doing. You need a pass to get in. Our school security is tight," I replied and showed my pass to the scanner hearing a satisfying click noise the school front unlocked.  "I'm going to talk to your mom. She works here right?" He replied. "Yes she does, but I'll be fine today. I don't have any classes with her. Just promise me you'll come to our competition tomorrow. It starts at 1:30 p.m.," I said. He stood there looking like he was thinking about it before answering, "Fine, but call me if you need me. No matter what. Ok?" I nodded and smiled.

Lance smiled a small smile back at me and left.
