Angelo's POV

The school day ended quickly and without a hitch. Most of what the teachers talked about was a review for the students in their classes. I went to soccer practice and resumed my duties co-captain.

The locker rooms were back with fit, muscular football jocks and my fellow teammates. I change into some loose, active clothing and made my way to the field.

Today we had to share our soccer field with the footballers. To say it was rough was an understatement.

--

"Ugh--" I drag out my discontent in the locker rooms. They were empty now except for a few students who decided to linger.

"What's your problem?" Byron commented as he yanked his shorts off and then his tatter blue jeans.

"Practice was shit and I'm so not in shape for the season." I pushed my sweaty clothes into my duffel bag as I vent.

"Practice was shitty wasn't. Hey, what are you doing tomorrow after practice?"

"Nothing. Probably hanging out at home." I zip my bag and sling it over my shoulder, walking out of the locker rooms with Byron at my heels.

"Well what do you say to pizza? A bunch of guys from the team said they would go and I'm sure Ethan will be there." He says the last part slyly and nudges my arm a little, winking at me.

My face reddens. Does he know, has he somehow figured it out? I slowly turn my head to look at him.

he's got a smug grin and he's making his eyebrows do that weird waving thing. He knows.

"How did you figure it out?" I say with my eyes downcast and staring at my vans. Byron pushes my arm with his shoulder.

"Oh please Angelo! Its painfully obvious that your gay. I only guessed that you had a crush on Ethan! Which you do~~" He said rather enthusiacally.

Painfully obvious? Really? I'm in sports and I don't act particularly feminine so how is it painfully obivous? I shake the notetion away from my head. I shug my shoulders and reply.

"It's not like he will return my feelings so I just never said anything to him. Or anyone for that matter." I say the last bit in a whisper and just loud enough for only Byron to hear.

"Mm, nobody knows that you gay. Even your parents, they don't know?" He interroragated me.

I nod my head at him. He shakes his head at me. Making his gelled hair move from its statued spot.

He stops me and grabs my shoulder. Pointing at himself he ask,"So I am the only person who knows?"

" For right now yes. So don't go blabbing around!" I say in a hushed voice. I check my phone there is  three miss calls and 7 text messages all from my dad. "I need to go, my dad is blowing me up. He's been waiting outside for awhile, I'll text you later."

I leave him and run to the only rusted, blue Outback in the schools ,almost empty, parking lot.
