Later that day, I went for a walk. My mom wanted me to get out of the house. I guess she wanted me to stop reading and writing for a bit, which I didn't understand. Because, a lot of parents want their kids to read and write like I do.

Anyway, it was cloudy that day. It was going to rain, too. So, before I left, I asked Mom if I could stop by my friend Bella's house. She said sure. I grabbed my raincoat and headed out. As I walked down my driveway, I thought of things to put in my story. So far, I had a boy who was out for a walk in the forest, on Friday the 13th. Which I think that's a little cheesy, 'cause, Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. But I couldn't think of anything else.

Anyway, the boy is on a walk and he hears a a wolf's howl. He doesn't know where it came from, but it doesn't scare him because he's seen plenty of wolves in the forest. But he realizes that it's daytime, and wolves usually howl at night, so he's confused.

That's all I have so far. It's not that good yet. But I'm working on it.

Anyway, I walked down my street and got to Bella's house. I knocked on her door. No one answered. I groaned. So, I headed back home. It wasn't raining yet, and I knew Mom wouldn't be happy if I came home after five minutes. So, I took the long way. The trail. My Dad doesn't normally like it when I take the trail. But it wasn't a big deal. I took it anyway.

As I walked along the trail, my mind was blank. But suddenly, it got very dark. Soon enough, it was pitch black. I was confused. I looked at my watch. It was only ten o'clock. How could it be pitch black? I kept walking forward. Putting my hands in front of me so I wouldn't bump into anything. Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I stopped. The footsteps went beside me and then in front of me. They got quieter. And then, they were gone. I got scared. What was going on? It was pitch black, and someone had walked right by me. I decided to just stay where I was and wait until it got lighter. I was terrified. I didn't want to move a muscle. I wanted to cry at that point. I looked and couldn't see anything. I shed a tear. But then, I started to bawl. I just collapsed on the gravel. Waiting for a miracle. Suddenly, it was getting lighter. I wiped my eyes. I stood up, and it actually was getting lighter! I was relived. I looked at my watch and it was only ten o'five. It as only dark for five minutes? I felt like five hours! I guess that's because I was crying and waiting. After that experience, I just bolted home. I was still crying, even though it was light again. I ran down the trail and around a lot of corners. I finally got back to my street. The trail was pretty much a circle around my neighbourhood. I ran to my house and burst through the door.

"MOM!" I screamed.

"Tamalia!" Mom yelled back. "What's wrong?" She came down the stairs and I ran into her arms. I cried into her chest. Then, I explained the whole thing to her. Mom's expression was blank. "Oh no," she said. "Well, I guess it's about time to tell you."
