Submission of work: Anime/Manga
Ohayo, minna! During the month of July, as of now, 3 chapters have been released for the Fairy Tail manga. I will warn you now that there will be spoilers, so if you do not want to be spoiled (which I can perfectly understand), then please do not read the information below. I have warned you.
Now, for the fun part~
The 3 chapters mainly focus on Gray and Silver. When the team faces the kyuukimon, Silver is among them. Juvia then senses the same perfume that Gray uses on this man's body. Then, Silver takes Gray and says that he'll deal with him. And they vanish.
Remember the time when Ur's village was attacked by the Deliora which ultimately killed Ur herself as well as Gray's parents? Yep, that's what Gray was wondering about. Let me say it out clearly. Silver looked EXACTLY like his father who died years back. And Gray knows that he died. So how did it happen?
Well in the manga, Silver first pretends to act like Gray's father, saying that he was actually the Deliora from 10 years ago. Gray was outraged because the Deliora killed his teacher, Ur as well as his parents. He fights Silver, but does not hurt him, because Silver actually learned slayer magic against ice, allowing him to be "immune" to ice.
Gray is already injured and hurt and with no other hope, decides to freeze the Deliora, using the technique, "Iced Shell" which Ur used to seal the Deliora for 10 years. He decides to sacrifice his life so that the Deliora will be sealed for eternity.
But of course, Gray doesn't complete the forbidden technique because he doesn't want to leave his comrades. He doesn't want to see them crying. So to defeat Silver, he uses a steel ball (which he got from the ruins of the village he and his team passed by to save Erza and Mira) and using his ice make, creates a vambrake that fits in his arm and throws the steel ball right at Silver. It creates a hole in his chest and he is half defeated.
(cont.)
Silver wants to get it over with and asks Gray to land the last blow in order to kill him. But Gray is reluctant, because he realizes something. Silver is truly his father and not the Deliora from 10 years ago! Now isn't that nice!
To confirm his thoughts, Gray asks Silver and Silver does indeed answer with a "Yes, I was your father." But as he goes on explaining, it is revealed that Silver did actually die on that night 10 years ago. He is not human, nor is he demon. He is just dead. That is what he says.
It is the kyuukimon Keith, the skull who Juvia is currently fighting who "revived" Silver. Keith is a necromancer, soid actually makes sense on his part. Silver was just another one of the corpses that Keith had collected and Silver just happened to be the one who "lived".
The last chapter ends with Silver and Gray hugging each other while Silver is talking to Juvia through telepathy, telling her what to do. But I won't tell you what he told her and so I'll just leave it to you readers to discover.
Well, all I can say is that Silver definitely loves Gray, but he started on the wrong foot. He definitely was Gray's father who died 17 years ago. But I'm sure that through his reunion with his father, Gray will grow stronger in his future not only as a Fairy Tail member, but also as a man,who treasures his comrades.
