Have you ever thought about cosplaying as your favorite character?
If it's your first time, start with something simple! Nothing so complicated, such as Erza's Heaven's Wheel Armor, or Aquarius' tail, but maybe these ideas can spark an idea.
Aries
Aries, the not-so-brave Celestial Spirit... she'll do her job, but never really felt confident. Though, you can when you put all the other costumes to shame.
Aries is a simple cosplay, literally, there is wool. EVERYWHERE. Simply go to your local sewing store, there should be more than one kind of fabric that will fit your needs.
Having trouble with the hair? I've never liked wigs, they're all itchy! So, kill two birds with one stone. If you go to the mall or even the grocery store, you should be able to find Hair Color Hair Spray. It will color your hair AND spray it in place. Unfortunately, you need to have light colored hair for this. I would say dirty blonde-bleach blonde. Anything in that range should work.
Another problem... I'm NOT CRAFTY! That's okay! You have several options! You can buy almost any costume on the internet. They are expensive, but I'd say they are worth it.
Okay, okay, we all know that moment when you forget something. The belt... boots... sleeves... Whatever it may be! It's okay, take a moment, relax. Think about your resources around you, because I almost guarantee that on your way to your event, you will see a fabric store. You may be late, but it's better than missing a piece. Like they say, show up fashionably late!
Performances are important if you REALLY want to draw attention. One way you can show Aries' ability is by holding on to two pieces of large wool. If you have a friend that is a guy, you could ask them to cosplay as Loke. It would really draw attention if he were to be sparring with you.
Photography is a great idea, especially if you are proud of your work or cannot make it to an event soon. You don't have to be famous for your cosplay to be amazing.
