The scene took place in Guidance Counsellor's office, where Mr. Parker had returned to his desk. I walked in and sat down in a chair, initiating a conversation. Meanwhile, Evelyn went to the infirmary to see her brother, Kevin, as I told her he was there, hospitalised with Abigail and Charlotte.
"It can't be..." I said, still in shock after what was revealed to be the ugly and revolting.
"I apologise if I ever said the 'adult' responsible, of course I never mentioned his name." said Mr. Parker. He was looking out through the windows, even though the view is still unnoticable.
"How can our English teacher be cold... Howard, Rebecca, the Murder of 2001 and maybe even Adrienne..."
"Mr. Phillips is known to hide many secrets from everyone. Once it's found out, death will hit any of them by his hands. You may have met Mark and Ingrid, the two victims of the 2001 paltry massacre. Yet of course, he spent more than two decades teaching in this school, and yet another ugly truth was that his activity is focused on ending others' lives."
"Why would he do that? I thought he was sane." I said, as Mr. Parker walked back to his seat and sat in it, sipping his cup of coffee afterwards.
"He only acted sane for sake of the school and sometimes the public. None of the staffs knew his darkest secrets, not even Principal Thompson." he explained, "In the past, no one knew that Samson's (Mr. Phillips') parents were divorced at a very young age and had to live with his wicked father. Years and years until at the age of fifteen, he found out about his father's dark activities one day; murdering animals and people he hated. His father started wielding his knife at him whilst running for his life. The tables have turned when he himself had finally killed his father, and thus, stealing his wallet and managed to survive all by himself. He was still educated until Year 12 and college, but he remained to be an absolute madman after the events of his father's death. The family runs on itself, murder is the main activity."
"If his dark and cold secret had revealed to me, I have to get killed?"
"Absolutely, however you could turn the tables yourself, by facing him."
"How should I face him?"
"The action that you should be performing is the action of what he did to his father. Like I said, turn the tables yourself." he said, "I didn't want to spoil this, but this is the main reason why Adrienne had set a curse on you all. She used to be attracted to you, so she must've put a large trust on you to save her."
I silenced myself for a few seconds until I opened my mouth, releasing the words again. "I guess it's the main reason why Adrienne chosed me."
"Definitely." he said, "By the way, your friend, Xiao-shi otherwise known as Kevin, was all healed and patched up. You may depart from my office to see him."
"Thank you." I thanked, getting up from the chair and started going for the door, holding the knob.
"It's all Charlotte's work, you should be the one thanking her." He smiled at me, and I smiled back, then I left the office.
I started making my way to the infirmary. I had two things to do: warn others about Mr. Phillips and get a drink, as I was thirsty. There was a vending machine near the infirmary. I had some spare change left, so I inserted the coins into the slot and selected lemon tea. As the can drops into its receiving port, I grabbed it from the port and started cracked myself a cold one. I sipped and continued my way to the infirmary. As I entered, I noticed that Kevin felt better, and was wearing Adam's washed grey tank brought by Abigail. He was sitting in the bed instead of lying and Evelyn was beside him, feeding some snacks. "I see Kevin is all better now, eh?"
"Yeah, Charlotte got him patched up and he's nearly fine. Although, he's still hurt." replied Evelyn.
"I heard Mr. Phillips killed Rebecca and Howard, are we gonna be okay?" asked Abigail.
"Well unfortunately, Mr. Parker told me if Mr. Phillip's dark secret is out to us then we'll be immediately killed." I replied. I took a seat in a chair beside the bed where Kevin and Evelyn sat.
"Kevin... I'm scared..." said Evelyn, holding his arm.
"Hey, you don't have to worry much. As long as we stick together, we won't be seen." said Kevin, then he noticed me drinking, "What are you drinking there?"
"Some lemon tea, I didn't expect a strange taste." I replied. My taste buds were not comfortable. "Worst fifty cents I spent, ever."
"Same goes to the water fountain. That shit whack."
"What are you gonna do? I don't think you found Sheldon yet, do you?" asked Abigail.
"I think he might be in the hands of Samson Phillips..." I said, in a disrespectful manner. "I'm not sure, but I'm not leaving him."
"What happens if he's dead by now?"
"Then I guess we had no choice, it's goodbye then..." I frowned, "There could be a chance though." I was about to get up.
"Nope. We won't let that shit happen." said Kevin. He stopped me by holding my left shoulder and sat me back down into the chair. "I already know you guys plan on going to the same uni. Hell, I might as well join you guys."
"Kevin... what did I do to deserve an Asian like you..." I smiled slightly.
"Excuse me?" said Evelyn.
"Oh shit, can't forget about you too, Ev."
"I think you better find Sheldon now, he could be in distress... or else Samson's gonna find him."
I put a serious look on my face, determined that I will be finding him. He could either be the last person saved or killed. I exited the infirmary, whilst the others smiled, relying on me. I went upstairs till the roof quickly. The rooftop door was somehow locked but I managed to bust it open using my crowbar. The whole rooftop area was huge. It has been a while since I've been outside. Strangely, the skies somehow looked a bit red. I took my first few steps at the rooftop, searching for Sheldon.
"Shedon?" I said loudly, searching for him. "I know you might be here, but where are you?" I walked to the other area of the roofop, then finally founded him, critically injured.
