Chapter 5:
I stared down at my paper and sighed. I'm horrible at math I just get numbers so mixed up all the time! I will never be able to figure this out without some help. Everyone around me was working on the questions with ease and I honestly just did not understand how to even work out the problem. Usually I would ask Dylan for help but this is the one class we don't share because he tested out of this math class and is supposed to use this period at study hall but really just hangs out with Ms. Simms and draws instead.
"Pstt" "hey do you need help?" the girl next to me asked. She had bright red hair and matching red lipstick to match. Her style was different but it suited her.
"Yes please!" thank god
"Ok here's the formulA and you just balance both sides so that they equal the same if A=574 then B has to also be 574 ok?" She asked and I nodded feeling a little but better now.
"Thanks I'm Kalli by the way" I told her and smiled. In the past few weeks I've been at this school she is the first girl to talk to me. I think that maybe being with Dylan all of the time might make girls uneasy.
"Yea your friends with Dylan and Benji right?" I laughed and nodded my head again
"I'm Kat, I usually sit at the front of the room but I missed lunch and didn't want Ms. Crazy over there to see me eating" she said and we both laughed
"How do you know Benji and Dylan?" I asked her and her cheeks started to redden
"Benji is my neighbor, and I babysit his brother sometimes but omg he's so cute" she said and I started laughing really hard
"Well ask him out" I said and then realized that maybe she couldn't sign and that's why she hadn't. "how about you teach me geometry and I'll teach you to sign! then I won't fail and you can have your prince Benji... If that's what you want I mean he's really obnoxious, but I don't judge" she said yes and we started talking about school and boys and our crazy geometry teacher before the bell rang and I wondered off to find Dylan.
The four boys sat under an oak tree playing soccer and messing around as usual. I set my stuff down and started eating my pizza. I love pizza ok? Don't judge me.
Pizza is life.
Before I knew it I was being thrown over someone's shoulder and carried through the courtyard. I don't know why I hangout with these people.
"Where going to get ice cream baby" Benji slapping my ass as he walked by. Dumb Benji, but I'm not going to argue with ice cream.
"We can't just skip school guys!" I protested but instead of putting me down I was thrown into Carson's truck.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
"What do you have to say for yourselves for skipping school?" my mother demanded before she continued to to ramble on and lecture before Dylan cut her off
"I can't hear you!" Dylan yelled in exasperation and stomped off
My mother looked shocked but didn't say anything more about us skipping school to get ice cream. She knew he couldn't hear her. God that would be so frustrating. I could tell that Mary wasn't very involved with anyone but her fiancé and it really bothered me.
