Quick side note, I'm sorry if I mention something wrong pertaining to the Deaf culture in this story! I'm going off of what I've learned from experience and the ASL program at my school so I really hope I don't offend anyone.

Should I go in? what if he doesn't want me around! ugh I have no idea what I'm supposed to do right now. I've never really seen him get this angry. Our parents never come home, they are always running off together somewhere planning a wedding. Ok Kalli just do it!

"Hi are you ok?" I asked Dylan finally walking in.

"I'm fine" he signed harshly and I flinched a little bit

"I'm really sorry" I kind of just stood there playing with my hands while he rummaged through drawers and slammed things.

He sighed and walked over to me wrapping his arms around me.

We stayed like that for a while. Just standing there together, holding each other. At some point he moved us from the doorway to the bed.

"Stay with me tonight" he signed and I really really wanted to.

"I can't, I'll be your sister soon, it just due any seem right" I admitted looking down

"Please? they aren't married yet" he begged and I agreed kicking off my shoes. If I was going to stay I was going to be comfortable.

To be honest I don't really know how I feel about Dylan, my mind just can't figure out what it wants but I guess I don't have to figure it out right now...

"Your too hard on your mother" Dylan signed out of nowhere looking down at me. We were sitting up against the headboard and I had my head on his shoulder.

"Who Mary?" I asked and he rolled his eyes

"I haven't known you guys very long but I have noticed that you have some bitterness toward her" he was being serious for once

"She hasn't been a great mother" I signed and said at the same time. Almost like I need to hear myself say that out loud.

"My dad told me that you guys have been through a lot but I can tell you aren't over it yet, I mean it's not very noticeable unless you really pay attention but sometimes when you don't think anyone is paying attention I can tell you aren't happy. I know Mary can be frustrating, and oblivious, and selfish, but she loves you. And you love her. But you need to forgive her so that you can move on" he was right i do resent my mother.

When my dad died Mary went off the deep end! She drank and got into drugs. It ruined her and I was alone, going through the sake thing as her but I was only ten years old. I learned to cook and clean and take care of myself because she couldn't. That was a long time ago and she's a better mom now.

"I don't know if I forgive her yet" I signed

"Forgive her for yourself, it will make you feel better"

"how is someone so young so wise?" I said to myself

"Don't forget sexy" Dylan winked at me, I guess he read my lips

Dylan gave me a big warm hug and squeezed my hand one last time before winking at me like there was a hidden message in his eyes.

And there was. I knew exactly what I had to do now.

I smiled back at him and walked out of the room, down the stairs and got lost in the endless hallways looking for Mary. I found her in the den reading a book.

"Hey Mary" I said

"Yes honey" she answered looking up at me

"Want to go get some pizza and talk?"

"That sounds fun sweetheart"

It's about time we finally talked...
