I woke up before anyone on the second day. All the birds in Gullies Woods seemed to be chirping and it was annoying

me. So I got out my bow and arrow and shot a few for breakfast. Next to wake up was Cora "morning sunshine," I said

sarcastically "I see you've been busy," she said, gesturing to the four barn swallows in my hand "well, when you wake

up at five AM in the wild, there's not much to do," I said "hey, I need some herbs for the morning feast, think you

could find some?" I asked "fine," Cora said glumly as she trudged off into the woods. Five minutes later she came back

with handfuls of raspberries "these are probably the find of the year," she said excitedly "too bad we have to eat them,"

I said. Next awake was Boyd "morning Boyd," I said "morning, hey, do you think I can have some raspberries?" He asked slyly "no, we all eat at the same time. If you want

raspberries right now you go find some yourself," Cora said sternly "well, somebody's
grumpy," Boyd mumbled as he walked off into the woods. Eleven minutes later he

came back empty handed "no luck?" I asked, mocking him "shush. I'm just going to wait," he said. Lastly, Pluto woke up "I see someone decided to sleep in," Cora said

"yes. That's the best I've slept in my whole life," "weren't there actual beds at the 'P.P.S?'" I said, mocking him "yes, but that was a long time ago," he answered "I thought

you said your whole life?" I said, trying to make him mad "Lynn, now is NOT the time
for you to correct my grammar," he said, surprisingly calm. Finally, we all ate, packed

our stuff, and moved on. We walked past acres and acres of birch trees until we stumbled upon the Chicano River. The Chicano River leads from a lake in Ada to the

edge of the state, just what we needed to cross the border. The problem was, this river was way to long to walk against. We would get tired not even 1/3 into it. "What

should we do?" Cora asked "we'll build a boat!" Me and Pluto said at the same time "a wood boat. It'll be simple." Pluto said, and just like that, we got to work. By 12:00PM

we had a boat big enough to fit all of us (and big enough so we could all sleep on it) and small enough to fit into the Chicano River. We pushed it into the water, hopped

on the boat and the current carried us away, and we had to help out a little so we built a steer on the back and had Boyd back there. By 9:00PM we had gone exactly 1/3 down

the river and decided that Pluto would take first watch at the steer. But later that night I heard a huge crack that woke me up. I looked around until I found that a giant rock

in the middle of the river had taken out our steer and a small portion of the back end. Pluto must have fallen asleep, and his feet were dragging him into the water

"PLUTO!!!!!!!" I screamed, which woke him up "w...what?" He said before the current had both his feet completely inside the river "LYNN! HELP!!" He screamed which

woke Boyd and Cora up " I'll save you, Pluto!" I screamed and grabbed his hand and tugged him up "Boyd! Cora! Help me!" I screamed at them. Boyd grabbed my hand and

Cora grabbed his and we all dragged Pluto out of the water "whew," Cora said "that's over with," I said relieved. I put my bow and arrow in my duffel bag and zipped it shut

"what are you doing?" Pluto asked "in case we crash into ANY MORE ROCKS I don't want my stuff floating in the Chicano river," I said. Then everyone packed their stuff

into their bags just as we crashed into the biggest rock any of us had ever seen...
