My Mom sat at the end of my bed that night. Staring daggers at me, Makeup was done, Hands folded, Legs crossed.

While I laid on the bed staring daggers back, Legs sprawled, Groaning into my pillow, Contemplating suffocating myself with this pillow or running through the glass in my window onto the roof and into the world, Anywhere but here. They were both great options if you really thought about it.

"Mabel..," My Mom called pulling me back to reality.

I groaned back, Shoving my face deeper into my pillow.

"Mabel!," She whisper shouted.

"Mom!," I whispered.

"Mabel. Get your head out of that pillow right now and tell me about this New Boy. Vincent, Right?" She said over the little shouting game she had started.

I suddenly let my head shoot up looking at her awestruck "How do you know his name!?," I screeched.

My mother casually laid back letting her back rest against my bed frame "Oh, Honey. Don't you know me well enough to at least know, I can figure these things out on my own? I just want to hear you say it," She said non nonchalantly.

I looked at her mouth agape. "No. Apparently not.," I said

She quickly sat up putting on her 'Cut- The- Shit- Face' "Mabel Lennon. You better tell me what the hell you did with that boy last night!" She exclaimed.

I gave in.  I'm hopeless I know. " Fine.....," I said silence lingering before I fully admitted it. "Mom... Me and Vincent last night...We studied in the park and I lost track of time! Yes, I know worst daughter in the world!," I exclaimed sarcasm on the high. When I lifted my head to look in my Mother's eyes she stared at me, disbelief claiming her expression.

"Mabel Jane Lennon! You did not just lie to me!" She screamed getting off the bed her hands flipped into the air.

I looked back at her,  hands high mimicking her expression "Amber Rose Hudson! I did just lie to you because guess what? You do it to me all the time!" Technically, I wasn't lying to her because basically, that's all we did. Minus, Of course, The hanging out/ Studying part because he was so late we didn't even have time for it.

My Mother looked back at me exasperated, Sighed then left the room.

Then turned around.

Then back around.

The once more.

Before she said "Goodnight, Mabel," Then left the room at last.

I didn't say anything back just nodded in response.

I wasted no time before I quickly got out of my bed headed to the window and saw my long awaited date to my Double Date, Tristan.

My heart was soaring just at the sight of him. His hair was swept back, Back straight, Flowers in hand, Smile plastered on his perfect face. Honestly what else could a girl ask for?

I stared at him for a while, Admiring my masterpiece when the thought fell on me like a ton of bricks. I was going to have to sneak out!

I'm a Golden Girl. I am the Golden Girl. Golden Girls didn't sneak out. It's written in a handbook that I made when I was ten.

Ten and innocent, Pigtails and overalls every day.

Now it seemed I was sixteen and mischievous, Slutty crop tops and long flowing hair down to my waist. Maybe this wasn't me but it was a generalization of the sixteen-year-old population.

I stole one last look at my door, locked it and ran towards the window. I tried opening the window, Prying, Pulling, Throwing objects at the window, Even screaming, I was desperate.

I took my time studying the object, Why wouldn't it open?

Was I that weak? Were my hands that sweaty?

That's when it occurred to me;  Was I that dense?  It was locked.

I slammed a hand to my forehead and sighed, Sometimes I worry myself.

Just as I had set my first foot on the roof I slid off my Converse to get a better grip against the sandpaper material they used on the roof. I stood with my shoes in hand mindful of my next few steps, I was three stories high.

"Mabel! What in the hell are you doing?," I heard a voice shout from below, When I looked down Tristan stood there clutching my flowers to his chest like a security blanket, Just watching. To his right stood, Vincent standing there an anxious expression on his face "You're going to fall!," He hollered from below.

Ignoring Vincent's comments I took a careful step forward watching each move I made, This wasn't that bad.

I shuffled the rest of the way down the awkwardly slanted roof before I had gotten to the edge I knew what I was doing.

"Vincent, Catch my shoes!," I yelled watching as he stepped closer in my direction.

"Ready!," He called out.

I stepped closer, closer, closer, tilting myself over the edge ready to throw. I wound myself back and swung. But little did I know that I was too close to the edge the momentum behind the swing throwing me off with it.

I went with my shoes, Falling endlessly to the bottom, what awaited me was an abyss of darkness. Cradling, Engulfing, Swallowing me whole.
