,"
It was lunch and Tristan had been sticking oddly close to me all day. I was starting to feel like an expensive vase. Smothered. Vincent was obviously not a friend of Tristan's anymore.
I was heading to my table when I noticed not just one dark haired head but two. One was blonde, and had on glasses. I continued to walk my breathe labored this has to be a joke! It's a joke right? But I was wrong as I neared the table I saw that Vincent had earned himself a permanent residence at our table.
Just as I had neared the table Everin's head snapped up her mouth turning from a smile to a tight line. "Hey guys! Whats going on?," I said sitting myself down onto the stool. Vincent grinned up at me "Hey! Well me and Everin were just planning our wedding....," He said teasingly. Everin looked at him and quickly hit his arm just making him laugh harder. I just stared at him in disbelief. " Well as long as I'm the Maid Of Honor I don't mind," I said starting to scratch at my arm. This was not a conversation I wanted to have. As usual it got worse. It always got worse when Vincent was around.
"How about we go on a double date?," Vincent suddenly suggested.
Water then blasted out of my mouth and onto the table soaking it. I just laughed.
"I'm sorry! Sorry!," I said still snorting. I hated my laugh. "But a double date?,"
"Yeah!,' Shouted Vincent.
I looked up from my mess I was currently cleaning up and shook my head at him.
"What?," Vincent said defensively.
"Vincent you can't handle one girl! How do I know you're not gonna bring three girls?--," I said
I was suddenly cut off when Everin spoke up saying "I think it's a great idea, Mabel!,' She harrumphed.
"Yeah!,' Vincent agreed childishly. "You can take Tristan. Or he can take you, However that works," He said wriggling his eyebrows suggestively. I could have smacked him on the spot.
Just as I was raising my hand however Tristan showed up and sat next to me grabbing my hand that was currently in the air. He sat there grinning and kissed the back of my hand and said
"So who wants to go on a double date?," I stopped In my tracks agreeing immediately.
"Of course! That sounds like a great idea!," I shouted before Vincent could finish his sentence.
Tristan looked at me in surprise "Really? You want to go?," I nodded my head in agreement before I quickly shoved my pizza in my mouth.
I was being a Hypocrite, I know. But where's the fun in letting Vincent come up with all the Ideas?

..................................................................................
It was Wednesday. Not just your ordinary Wednesday either. This was the day of the double date. I had gotten up unusually early that morning just so I could look my best. Straightening my fringe morning hair, Did my makeup, Set out my clothes the night before and I even did my Eyeliner. For every girl this may have just been a daily routine but to me this was like me being the winner of the Hunger Games. I stared at the mirror for a moment flashed my most flattering smile and threw on a pair of Red Chucks. Slamming open my bedroom door, swinging my hips all the way down the hallway and descending down the stairs. Today was gonna be my day! Why? I wasn't quite sure, I just had a good feeling about today.
"Mabel, Pumpkin butt is that you?," My mother said in a cheery voice.
She definitely had her fix of coffee today I thought as I cringed at the nickname.
"Yes, Mommy Dearest it's the one and only!," I said sarcastically holding in my eye roll.
"Oh good! I have some news!," She said almost jumping in her seat.
"Good or bad news? Cause you know I want the Bad news first!," I said cutting into her joyful mood.
"Well....Both? I guess," She said talking to herself her eyebrows wrinkling in an enduringly childish expression.
"Well..?," I said "Hit me with it,"
"Well first and foremost. I have to work late tonight so I'll need you to get a ride from one of your friends that I just adore!," She said gushing.
I responded immediately "Mom that's what Boyfriends are for!," I sighed "For Moms Boyfriends should be a blessing. They give their daughters rides, Feed them, Love them, Spoil them," I said counting them off on my fingers.
"They also take yours daughters on dates, Kiss them, Take their virginity, Spoil them rotten, Also when they cry they bring you back to us! The Mothers!," She said also starting her own countdown.
"Mom!," I squealed in embarrassment cheeks flushing "Me and Tristan haven't even talked about....Well..You..Know..."Mating," I said in quotation marks.
"You better not have!," She announced "Or I'll take my new Platform Stilettos and dig that heel where that heel does not belong!," She said determinedly
I covered my face groaning in embarrassment, But I quickly recovered as I remembered to mention the Double date today.
"Oh! Mom also I'll be out late today. Ten-ish? No...Maybe?--." I said as I was quickly cut off.
"Oh, Honey did you really think you would be going anywhere tonight?," She said her smile returning to it's usual cruel grin. "You still have to tell me about what you were doing the other night! Don't you remember? The new boy? As of which you were both doing the most innocent of things? Such as reading The Holy Bible? Or doing a group project?," She sneered "You're a liar, Mabel! And your not going anywhere tonight! Oh, But Mabel Dearest don't you think it was a good show I put on for you? Being the 'Perfect Mom'," She spat.
This was the Mom I knew. She never changed. There was no amount of coffee big enough to fix my Mom. Ever since my Dad there was nothing that could change her. She was just permanently broken. Simply Unfix-able, But what I just saw there was a slim glance at what she used to be and I would take anything I could get.
