Mary Delmar came to the United States with her father when she was just five years. Her father soon established a small bodega in Queens where he would make her sandwiches everyday after school. On her spare time Mary would help out at her dads bodega whether it was making the sandwiches, cleaning, or running the register. Mary became friends with the smart boy who always care to grab a sandwich, Peter Parker. Mary soon developed a crush on Peter but kept it to herself-why would he like a nobody.
Mary knew how the world worked. She felt that she was meant to live the rest of her life in the bodega. When Mary wasn't at the bodega she would praise the many superhero's in the world, there was one thing. Yeah, they saved them from threats like aliens or other villains but what about the minorities? The undocumented being taken, the blacks facing police brutality, what about them? Did they matter? To Mary they did and it hurt her that no one was doing anything, she wanted to help but who would notice the girl in the bodega with big dreams and a big voice?
