we were liars

we were liars
who should've been thrown into the fire
for igniting hate
and deciding our own fates

we were sinners
who always wanted to be the winner
we let our greed decide our actions
and searched for mere distractions

we were broken
all our words remained unspoken
as we locked our hearts
and tried to act smart

we were mismatched,
lonely, lost and detached
kids who found pride in being the best
who lied with great zest

but we were just kids
who didn't knew how to bid
so we sold our futures
just to dismantle a few rumours

we were liars, sinners, broken, mismatched or maybe we were just kids . . .
