The Riddler x Reader

Part 8

Edwards Pov•

When I went to sleep last night (y/n) wasn't there and she wasn't here when I woke up today, I looked around the house for any signs of her but I found none. I open the front door and look around but I found no signs of the (hair color) Female.

I walk over to my computer and start thinking up a new riddle, if I'm not able to find her on my own right now maybe I'll make the bat do it.

*Bruces Pov

When I wake up I hear chatting in the kitchen, I walk in to see (Y/n) chatting with Alfred about cooking and how she could probably help him. I was surprised when I found her where I did, I didn't know Scarecrow would harm one of his own but I guess they'll do anything to get on top.

She turns around and smiles at me, looking cleaner than she has in a long time. I'm surprised the riddler never mentioned it to her or maybe he didn't realize, Either way she was looking a lot like her old self. I hear the door open behind me and see Jason walk in. He beckons me out into the hall way and tells me that something in the Bat cave is beeping.

I head downstairs turning on my computer and asking the computer to show me the news, I sigh in utter disbelief not believing the words on the screen but not doubting them. I walk back up stairs and ask if he could take (y/n) food shopping (I'm not aware what Americans call it) with him, he nods and they head out.

I walk over to Jason and ask if the other two are sleeping he nods and I tell him to go get his robin costume, we were heading out to solve a riddle.

*Y/n Pov :Controller*
I arrive at the supermarket with Alfred and I look around, the place looks awfully familiar and then I remember. I turn to Alfred and speak softly "I think I bought a knife here once, a simple kitchen knife." We walk down one of the aisles in search for the food items we need, it was slowly becoming late.

*Batman Pov

I arrive at the place Edward sent me the location for a look around, no sign of a ambush but a note with only a question mark on it. I hear his voice cut through the silence, he had somehow hacked into my communication device. "Batman, Riddle me this! What is invisible and makes people suffer from symptoms like sweating and nausea, yet people can't survive without it?" I go to respond that this a stupid riddle and he should just tell me what he wants but Jason responds first. "Love?"

The Riddlers face lights up and he opens a door, to a small building.  Inside the room behind a small gate there he sat in a computer. "Before you try it Batman, I have various ways to escape here so don't even think about calling them." He adjusts his shirt before standing up and walking over to the gate looking me in the eye. "I lost something very important to me and I want to know if you know where it is." I think back to the girl I saw before if she meets him he'll think she's still the psycho she was before but she's sane and can actually notice pain now.

"What do you want, Nygma?" I cross my arms not wanting to deal with any of this currently when he grabs the cage roughly shaking it while screaming "You know what I want!" Jason steps in front of me looking Nygma in the eye. "You mean Y/n?" Nygma glares at Jason before responding "Of course, God are all hero's stupid?" Jason looks at him obviously nervous before he starts explaining.

*oh wow your POV again
I stop by the knifes as we walk by my mind drifting to a place I remember dearly, I know her mind must've drifted there too because she jumped back and let out a terrified sound. Wait this is a great idea! If I get her scared enough maybe she'll remember who we are. I think more in detail about the murder as she panics.

I remember back to the way my knife slid into his throat, the way the blood spilled everywhere and the way he made soft begging sounds knowing he was gonna die but still struggling in hopes I'd have mercy for him. She falls back and hits her head on the cabinet (again not sure what to call it.) passing out.

"He did what?!" I throw my chair at the wall as I start pacing slightly, I look back at the Robin before asking "How?" Batman looked at me before explaining that he didn't know yet when I see him pick up his phone, he lets out a sigh before turning off the phone. "I've gotta go." He turns to his car and drives off while I sit here processing the whole thing. "Time to play a game with a little scarecrow"
